So, I just downloaded it, when's the RD supposed to be?

I like the album, but I dont' have any high criticisms for music in general so. Charlie Murphy makes an appearance and the production is pretty good. I dont like the repitiotn of previous lines he's used though.

I'm liking Ghetto, but thats about it.

He comes through with the same punch lines and same delivery every cd. This guy is boring. The only good thing going for him is that Breath song. Other than that, he is one garbage rapper.

He has a lot of skills to be a good rapper, but he makes them love songs...I like his song Breath..its a banger, but other than that...I dont like much from him.

As for upcoming albums: I will def get that new Nas joint, Street's Disciple and the Eminem joint..Encore.

His song 'Breathe' is an absolute hit.
Other than that, he's got a really long way to go before we put his name in the same sentence as Nas' and those guys.

im with franchise and courtvision...fabolous is garbage.

some good real hip hop thats new:

    The alchemist - 1st Infantry.

The Perceptionists (Mr. Lif & Akrobatik) -The Razor

    Planet Asia - Throwbacks

check it out. People like kobe 8 ball man...ya'll need to go out and find real hip hop. dont let mtv or the source tell you whats happening in hip hop. there is so much more hip hop and so much BETTER hip hop then what mainstream media puts in your face. you seem to just be only into mainstream rap. trust me...there is better hip hop out there. you just gotta find it.

Rap music wise, I hate songs when rappers try to promote themselves in their songs. Lyrics have to be meaningful, and basically saying that you yourself is sick is garbage. That's why I prefer other songs too, songs that actually have meaning. Kanye West is great IMO because his songs have meaning.

Definately, I'd suggest this, Mobb Deep, and De La Soul as albums to check out.

Tribe Called Quest is sick too, and Slick Rick, but he hasn't dropped anything since after "Art of Storytelling" because he's been in jail [till Nov 2003] due to the post Sept 11 Immigration crackdown. Slick is sick though, he's not the womanizing/gangesterism type, he's just a sick storyteller, he won't likely be popular to most of the younger people though, but I hope he can still make another album, even though he's almost 40 now.

I hate mainstream hip hop, the only one 2 will listen to is Eminem..I consider NAs mainstream but he is top 5 IMO...whats out today is garbage..all I said was i liked his Breathe song? Is it wrong for me to like a mainstream song once in awhile? THe other mainstream artist I like a lot is Trick Daddy, check out his new cd, he has A LOT of meaningful and deep lyrics on that cd, yes he has some "women, gangster crap on it" but a lot of it is deep. Slick Rick is ill, Royce da 5'9"...dont think I like todays mainstream crap, because I dont.

    Og, Slick Rick is awesome.

I've been listening to a lot of The Roots lately, The Tipping Point (latest one) is a really good cd. I also really like the new Mos Def cd, The New Danger.

Other than that I haven't been downloading much, I'll probably pick up the Tipping Point, The New Danger and Nas' new album when it comes out.

I've also been listening to Canibus, lyrically hes a genius.

Heres a very small portion (I say that because the song is 7:18) from a song called Poet Laureate II.

"<font size="1">This is the line of will, the circle of time
the cycle of eternity, the emergence of 1 line
    Academic phonetics render critics tounge-tied
Ive personified dry humor of cum-laude alumni
A wise man sees failure as progress
a fool divorces his knowledge and misses the logic
And loses his soul in the process
obsessed with nonsense with a caricature that has no content
    My style is masterful, multi-lateral
I could battle a fool and be naturally cruel
Words of scourn are a disasterous tool
from an existentialist's view, I'm a better rapper then you
Grab the mic and rip your physical fabric in 2
my attitude is ****** up but abrogable
Different methods interpreted into different forms
from entirely different perceptions and seen from different norms
Not to spit in the palm theres much more involved
theres much more pieces of the puzzle for you to solve
    48 orders of mechanical laws
and rays of creational cause, enhance the cadence of my bars
    Maybe I am self-obsorbed
but thats the effect, to find the cause you should ask my A&R...

Kanye is funny, he's col though, his album would have something like Jesus Walks, then the next song is his workout tape, geez.

Just listened through 1st Infantry today again, and I love this album.

^rofl, the workout plan was hilarious(video was even more funny). Kanye's songs are pretty good, but I wanna see some of the videos for stuff like Spaceship, and not some of the stuff that will obivously sell. Apparently he has a music video DVD coming out. THe Two Words Video itself is pretty cool too.

The most recent other album I've listened too was Mos's the R & G advance(bleh), Encore and Jin's. Jin needs some help. He won the 50 k battle and all, but his album was sub par. for mainstream. Oh I liked Kweli's album.
