<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This season, Murray was to compete with Luke Ridnour and Antonio Daniels at point guard, but McMillan said from the first practice Murray may be best suited to be the team's top scoring option off the bench. As for his role now? "It will be similar to last year," McMillan said. "Right now, he'll be coming off the bench, and we'll see how he goes, and just slowly work him back in." Well, maybe not so slowly. Murray was the Sonics' third-leading scorer last season, and with Brent Barry gone as a free agent, he may be asked to do more. "He has to be an option for us," McMillan said. "He's probably our third-best scorer. He is capable of putting some points up, and he's going to have to." </div> http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/basketball/197130_sonx28.html How is Nate McMillian going to limit Flip's role before the season starts? It won't be long before I'm heading the fire McMillian band wagon. This team has really struggled in the preseason and you would think that they will welcome the return of Flip. If you read the entire article you will see the subtle messages that McMillian (and Allen) doesn't want Flip to take a hold of this franchise. I guarantee you if he tries to hold him back it will backfire and cost him his job.
Dude, I'm sorry, but if you suck up to Murray any more, I'm going to scream. Yes, he deserves to start. On a team that doesn't have Ray Allen. Flip is a shooting guard, was a shooting guard, and as far as anybody can tell, will always be a shooting guard. Accept it. If he's really as good as you say, he'll be starting or at least finishing games.
