Ray Allen, Tracy McGrady, Michael Redd and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. How old is Ray Allen? I dont know much about Redd. Obviously McGrady would be my favorite, but I doubt we would be able to sign him for a few reasons... 1. He will be able to get more money from the team he is with 2. We are the Warriors 3. Rockets are a good team So basically, if Richardson and Murphy dont resign with us, we are screwed. There is NO way in hell that we should sign Abdur Rahim...
I like Michael Redd, but critics argue that his defense is so bad Jrich looks like DPY. The one thing I like about him is he'll hit shots with people in his face and do it consistently. The guy's just an animal when he gets his rhythm. Plus he can play some point guard too. I would like to get Ray Allen, but he will not play for us unless he demands a high ransom. He will probably go to someone like the Pistons or somebody that needs a backup shooting guard or something that will promise him a starting spot on a playoff team.
Yeah I would sign Tony Parker but I doubt he will be available for us. The guy is a rising stud. Actually maybe he would since he's already won a ring. The franchise should always start with a good center and a good point guard. Those positions are always rare. I think when Biedrens develops he and Parker could be deadly.
Alright guys let's calm down a bit. JRich and Murphy can demand trades all they want but we don't have to do sh*t. Them demanding a trade is like a little kid pouting and resorting to threats to get what they want. No team right now would give them that money except maybe Atlanta. Even if we did trade them they would not be able to sign an extension right away, they would have to wait till season's end if they played with us or any other team. If we win basketball games and they play like what Feagen is asking everything will be fine. The question is do we still want them? After an episode like this you know Mullin is re-thinking about the core of the team. Murphy and Richardson are good players but if they don't live up to being great players (not good) they are out the door. Their asking price is way too high especially when we have a replacement in a few years for each: Pietrus and Biedrins. Those two contracts combined will make Jamison's contracts seem like peanuts. If Jrich and Murphy pout all season long they will not play to win but for a contract and we can kiss playoffs goodbye. Expect a lot of ill advised shots to go up to bring up their averages. If this happens Mullin will trade their ass. They both are on rookie scale so those two for a Chris Bosh + 1st rounder or Chris Wilcox + 1st rounder or even Nene + Skita/1st rounder would be pretty good. We don't have to trade both in the same transaction someone else can bring up some good ideas but my ideas were just a reference point. We could use the money to sign maybe Flip Murray or a scorer with a good attitude to come in & play not demanding a max deal. This is not an ideal scenario but if these two bastards play for a contract the season is over. I understand wanting to get paid but there is a difference in playing to win or playing for a contract. I know people don't think this is a big deal but the season starts in 2 days and this could lead to disaster.

I don't know if that's such a good idea but he has come through in big time moments like in the playoffs and he is a real point guard at a very young age.

They both speak the same language.
I think people are really over-reacting here. When Richardson and Arenas sat out that one practice in their rookie year, you can bet Fegan advised them to do it. Remember, they both said they called him the night before. I think it's the same exact situation here. Now, Fegan says that if contract extensions weren't hammered out, his clients advised them to get him out of there. No, what probably happened was the following: Fegan: You guys want me to get you as much money as possible right? Richardson: No doubt. Murphy: Sure Fegan: So will you give me the power to negotiate on your behalf, saying anything I have to to get you guys paid? Richardson and Murphy: Sure. Fegan (later on): My clients have authorized me to get them out of here if you don't give me whatever I want... Guys, don't believe everything you read in the papers, especially if it's coming out of an agent's mouth.
Well they were quoted on certain things on several news articles but I see what you're getting at. Their conversations probably are more like this though: Fegan: So can I stick both my arms up each one of your butts and use you guys as sock puppets. This way I can flap your mouths using my hands and get you to say whatever I want you to say and it will make me rich because I get that percentage of what you make. Richardson and Murphy: Sure. Fegan (later on): Where's my wrist watch?
Basically, yeah. But that's the way it works. I would bet that the average poster on this board knows more about the CBA than the average NBA player. They put their futures in the hands of their agents and let them do whatever they want to get them the most money. As you might be able to tell, I'm not a big fan of agents. There are several who are really good and ethical-guys like Leigh Steinberg and Brian Duffy. But it's guys like Fegan who don't care about anything except getting their guy the most money that I just can't stand.

That guy made out like a bandit. If you were a GM what would you do to make sure we didn't get players who are known to select hardball agents like Dan Fegan?
There isn't really anything you can do. Richardson, Arenas, and Murphy all decided to go with Fegan out of college, and Damp changed agents while he was still under contract. You can't worry about who a player has as an agent when you're drafting, you just have to take the best player you can. Actually, since rookie contracts are on a scale, you shouldn't be thinking about the agent at all, because they shouldn't be heavily involved, except for second round picks. The only thing you can do is not go after free agents who are represented by a guy you don't like. But that doesn't even make that much sense, because you should go after the free agents that you want, and if the agent is too difficult to negotiate with, just break off negotiations. Basically, I think GM's look at hardball agents as just a necessary evil that they have to deal with.

Hopefully they will be worth these contracts and get us into the playoffs.
Heh, you like one Rudeezy Well I'm glad we won't complain about "not signing them next season" during this season, but if we don't make the playoffs we sure as hell will complain about them for "signing them this season" next season! Anytime you hog up that much of the team's flexibility you better produce and in more ways than just stats. Dive for loose balls, be a good role model, make Foyle look like Scrooge McDuck in the Community Assists program and start reading "If You Give A Mouse a Cookie..." in sign language for all the hearing impaired children in the Read to Achieve Program. I swear this 10 year drought is like the Boston Red Sox curse (only on a smaller scale obviously) which got lifted until this year. So just maybe it is time it will be lifted for us this year or the year after. If that doesn't work then I might go loco and then Cohan will have to call the cops on me because I'm bringing the wire cutters, the chloroform and the anti-guard dog tazers when I hop over his fence onto his estate. There's got to be some good luck charms to help this team win. I tried predicting scores beforehand thereby jinxing the game in our favor last year and it didn't work. I know! Maybe those throwback uniforms are like the anti-curse and we need to wear those more often rather than only on hardwood classic nights. It will serve a bunch of purposes: 1.) We have good luck charm 82 games a season 2.) It will annoy a lot of New Yorkers with the "The City" written on the front of the jersey and that's always good 3.) The flashy yellow is an overload on most people's senses, giving the player enough time to blow by his defender for the behind the back, off the backboard, catch and then between one leg and then the other, tomahawk jam. 4.) We can replace the little cable car logo on the front with an impala and guns pointing out the sides and have the slogan on the front say "Da Inner City". Now that's Oakland
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting UltimateWarrior:</div><div class="quote_post">Id prefer Tony Parker over anyone SA probally wont resign with Ginobli and Duncan's contracts..</div> Well I guess not..they ended up extending his contract today
I think the only players who didn't get extensions who really wanted them are Minnesota's Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell. Everyone else who wanted to stay with their teams and put up some decent numbers got long term extensions over 50 million dollars years (Kirilenko, Gasol, Parker, McGrady, J-Rich and Murphy, Randolph and even Tinsley). Crazy.
