<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bobcats have acquired guard Keith Bogans from the Orlando Magic in exchange for forward Brandon Hunter.
?Keith Bogans is the type of player who fits right into our philosophy of having long athletes who can play multiple positions and are strong defenders,? said Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff. ?He is versatile enough to guard opposing point guards or swingmen with equal success and has really worked on improving his offensive game.?

The 6-5, 215-pound guard was selected by Milwaukee with the 43rd overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft but was traded to Orlando on draft night. He appeared in 73 games as a rookie with averages of 6.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.5 minutes. Bogans started 36 games and his production increased to 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in those contests.

Wow, I really would have kept Bogans, he looks like a future star. This is a bad move for Orlando.

    Nice trade by the Bobcats.

I got to see Bogans play a lot over at Kentucky, and I think this kid could eventually be something special. This really shocks me that the Majic didn't want to keep him around. Oh, well, he'll get his chance in Charlotte.

This is a good move for both Bogans and the Bobcats, Bogans has a chance to be the starter in Charlottle, and the Bobcats don't look like they have half bad of a lineup for a expansion team either, Okafor, Wallace, Bogans, and Hart. Brandon Hunter has been a guy that can break out at any time, who knows, maybe a good backup PF?

Bogans will become another of our players who will prosper in another town. I really can't believe it. Well, it's good for Bogans, Charlotte and Stevenson, but come on for Hunter? A 6-7 guy is regarded to help our frontcourt? He will likely be placed on the IL, at least when DeClerq comes back. And in addition, besides this years draft picks, who else from our previous draft picks do we still have? Right, just Kasun and he will also likely be placed on the IL, I can't believe that, what a waste of draft picks...

I wish Bogans all the best in Charlotte.

Wow, I'm surprised we gave up so little for Bogans. I'm not saying Hunter's bad, but I think we got the better end of the deal here.

IMO, the Magic didn't get ripped off. No. Hunter might not have played a lot last year, but he did start a few games and did very well. He got a double-double in his first ever start, so that should prove that he is not a scrub either. However, because of the depth in the frontcourt of the Magic, he'll find it hard to get over 20MPG unless injury problems occur to Howard or Cato.

wtf? Keith Bogans was the true heart and hustle for our team last year and this is how we reward him. Does this mean we'll keep DeShawn? Maybe we were a bit over-stacked at the 2-3, but come on did we have to do this trade? I agree somewhat with Trip in that we really didn't get ripped off (Hunter does have talent), but this still blows my mind.

Weisbord was doing good this offseason, until this move this is a stupid trade, Bogans is going to be a star.

I saw it coming.. I think it was the only move that could be made. We Couldn't trade Stevenson until Dec.15.. and Bogans will be a Free Agent next season. We can probably sign him back next season. He will have an awesome season at Charlotte. Good Luck Bogans [IMG] .

They traded him because he said he was going to demand a trade if he was placed on the IL. So maybe DS beat him out and weisbrod didn't wan't his negativity with our new team. Stevenson came last year when and took bogans starting spot away that should tell you something. The magic knew they were going to lose so they could of kept the rookie in.I'm not saying he will be a better player than bogans in the future but he is a little better on offense and bogans isn't much better on d if at all.

Keith Bogans is much better than DeShawn Stevenson, and shouldnt have been traded. But thats my opinion, Bobcats got an upgrade of Kapono now at the SG.

Bogans right now isnt really better then Stevenson, just more promising.I bet a main reason why they didnt trade Stevenson is becuase they cant until December 31,because of the contract they signed him to the offseason.

This wasnt a bad trade for the Bobcats who could actually develop into a number 9 or 8(in the east) team, in a few seasons imo.

Stupid trade but I agree with Silky Smooth. There isn't much a difference between DS and Bogans.

But like I've said before, why the hell did Weisbrod sign Stevenson in the 1st place. He wouldn't have to had to trade Bogans if he just let him go.

Weisbrod has done some good stuff this off-season but re-signing DS was just stupid.

I read in the Sentinel that Bogans didn't plan to re-sign with the Magic...

But still, I really though we could have gotten something better out of Bogans.
Hunter an undersized scrub at 4, and behind Howard, Garrity, maybe Bradley I dunno how much minutes he can get...

I'm hoping Weis has something up his sleeve...

I personally don't like this trade, even if Bogans wasn't going to resign with the Magic they should've kept him, he could've been a great help in rebuilding this team fast and IMO is better than Stevenson. Hunter should do us some good hopefully and we should be ok seeing as we got rid of one of our million gaurds, lol.

I agree with just about everyone here. But who knows, I believe that Weisbrod has us moving in the right direction overall so we'll just have to wait and see if this was a good move.

    Magic annihilate Bucks tomorrow :beerchug:
