Troy Bell and Outlaw waived... Time's up for Griz to pick 15-man roster - Must Register <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The more interesting decision will likely come down to Bell and Burks. Retaining four point guards never seemed feasible for a team with two proven, young players (Jason Williams and Earl Watson) at that position</div> I'd love to get one of those 2, both are athletic [Bell a little more], Bell is a better shooter, while Burks is a better defender, and I'd rather have a young promising PG than Milt [okay I just don't like Milt, is it a crime?]. Ryan Humphrey will also likely be let go, and he's not bad, but just hasn't been in a good position, but we have a log jam at the forward positions too, so we don't really need to look at him.
It looks like Burks will be waived. Bell is a first-round pick and would thus count against Memphis's salary cap. Burks, meanwhile, is a second round pick and the Grizz's cap will be affected by his waiver. From what I've heard of Burks though, he doesn't seem to be a good point guard. He tries to show off on offense and isn't a steady ballhandler. I'd rather the Raptors pass on him and go after a more traditional guard, someone like Dan Dickau or Rod Strickland.

Yes...Bell. I hope we could sign him, however that would mean that Sow, Bonner or Palacio will have to be let go. Palacio has a guaranteed contract, so it's not as likely to see him let go as the other two. I would think that Dickau isn't going anywhere. He was amazing when he started the other day in the preseason, I hoped Dallas would cut him though.
Yea Palacio probably won't go, still don't know how anyone could give him a guranteed contract, but it will be hard to cut either Sow or Bonner. Bonner has a game that resembles Donyell Marshall's a lot, and Sow is a good energy guy, why did Milt have to be guranteed, can't stand the guy.
Dickau will probably stay on the Mavericks' roster because Dallas doesn't need to cut any players. Hopefully, the Raptors can get him in a trade. Maybe we can trade Murray for Dickau and Tariq Abdul-Wahad? Not sure if the deal will benefit us much though. Abdul-Wahad is expensive and takes a lot of cap space.
I don't think the Raptors can get either player so why bother talking about it. We are already set with our 15 man roster. I would not give up on Pape Sow and Bonner at all, I want to see how they pan out.
Although most of us don't like Palacio, it seems that Babcock and Mitchell are fine with him and Mason backing up Alston. So whatever we decide on, will not necessarily be what Babcock does. I'd like us to sign Bell if possible, but the chances are unlikely.
its all about the money! if we drop palacio i doubt we have enough for bell or burks. i like bell though we are kinda avg with the pg position, but its all changing cuz skip is playin great! i really like that! but yeah, its all about the $$
One game can't change all the times he waste's clock. misses everything, passes to the refs, drives and chucks up wild layups that look more like off the backboard alley-oops, and does a jumpstop at halfcourt into a double team.

hopefully boogie willaims will b back just in time for the playoffs if we make it that is.. because with palacio at backup.. theres sumthin wrong there
Man, what are you guys talking about? Palacio has been unreal this season fromt he field. The way that og15 described his play is not true man. It was true last season but now, hell no man. Palacio is doing great. Also I would keep Bonner for sure, if he keeps getting better, hes going to be a great starter.

The thing about Palacio is.....he can't shoot, can't pass and he doesn't make good decisions on the court. His strength is driving to the basket and he has done it well for the Raptors so far. He may be playing well now, but when defences adapt to his style of play he will struggle.
