I'm to the point now where i dont believe anything on tv. With all the lies about politics and sports and things like that how do you know what is the truth on tv anymore. I'm startin to think that the media even lies(or exaggerates) the feud between kobe and shaq and all that. My question is how much of this shaq and kobe thing is just made up by people trying to make money?

Exactly my point there are lots of stuff in this world, foget about basketball for a second there are a lot of lies out there and keep on getting bigger and bigger. But behind everything there is one thing one goal most analysts and political people are after its called money. Its what are world runs on its what we need and because of this they will do naything to get the attention or do there best to get the most out of totally nothing.

ahh yes.. the true human nature. humans will do anything to gain power, and in money there is power. so i guess the only explanation for all the lies on tv would be human nature.

They exploit things and try to maximize it to its upmost capabilites. Shaq and Kobe were not the only two superstars who have fueded but the fact that they won rings with each other while (supposedly) hating with each other was the driving factor i nthe media busting on them all the time. Plus the fact they were in L.A. What started out as pesky differences has been blown up to be nothing but assumptions and exxaggeration.

This is what the media did with Vince Carter. They created him as an image as 'the next guy' and, all of a sudden, he goes to his graduation in the MORNING of a game 7 and he did something wrong? Tell me, what wrong did he do? It's not like he missed the game. He got something four years in the making. Yeah, it was the most important game of his NBA career but the fact that he not only made it but had an excellent game and was once basket away from the ECF should cancel out the doubt that many critics had about him going to his graduation.

Well, I feel as if I'm going off topic.
I hate exploitive media of any kind but the American media is the worst of all. And some of Canada's media nowadays is so quick to follow in the path of the quick-money contreversy style of the American media and it'll be hell here as well, which I pray won't happen for a couple of more years.

KB23 did you just realize that? If yes then WOW. Let me tell you something about the media they will do anything for ratings. They don't care who they will hurt (for the exception of children but not all) while doing their yellow journalism. Think about what we see in the news. Why is the Lazy Peterson Case more important then others? These kinds of incidents happen all the time. Think of JonBenet Ramsey why is she more important then the girl who was raped and kill in a Vegas casino. Both were similar incidents.

Another example how KB mention Shaq after he was arrested saying that he should do what Shaq has done under this situations. The media when crazy over this, even though this was known for several months, almost every sports/news channel had a story on it but what they forgot to mention a week later, after some new info was released, is that the detectives added this info to their report three months later (Nov 17, 03) after their initial report in July. (if y?all think all the juice details already came out wait a few more weeks)

Oh yeah think of the Phil Jackson book, if you've read it, and of the reports that came out regarding the book.
