That's cool though, stop posting once I make valid points, and then claim that you received PMs (which I certainly didn't send), and run away. I guess the excuses could only last so long. I'm not mad though, you probably need a rest before what the Spurs are gonna do to the Lakers on Friday. Believe that.</div> Okay sure thing.
Seven assists the whole game... as long as we don't move the ball we're not going to win playing against good teams like Utah. Sure enough Chris Mihm reverted to his old ways after a monster performance. I hope he's not the type of player who gets all big-headed after one good game and turns in a mediocre game the next. If he can rebound from this, there will be an improvement.
they had better step it up in fridays game against SA. they shot horribly in that game, no excuses. and its already expected that the haters would come in to bash us so no suprise there.
Well, watching the game, we didn't start out aggressive and we weren't making as many passes per possession. We were obviously tired, and not thinking that Kirilenko would throw all of our shots into the stands. The crowd really did play a huge role at the beginning of the game. The Jazz gained a significant amount of momentum because of AK47's performance in the first two quarters, and the shooting wasn't helping. If you notice, once Kobe started pushing this team and scoring at will, the crowd stopped the chants and were silenced, and we stole the third quarter. I believe we actually won the third...I'm just too lazy to look at the box score right now. But I'm optimistic...and I always have been. In Game 5 of the Pistons series, I still believed that the Lakers were going to win 3 straight at that point, but it didn't happen. Right now, this game was a loss, but that's not all. It was an evaluation of our squad. The Jazz exposed our weaknesses, and I guarantee that, with the experience and coaching abilities that Rudy T has, he's hitting on all of those weaknesses in practice today...so I expect nothing of the sort when we play the Spurs on Friday. If it does turn out to be just as bad, then I expect improvements for the next game, and so on....
^yeah theres a saying that what does not kill you only makes you stronger. i hope they do improve on those weaknesses. i didnt see the game last night but im gonna be watching the fridays game against spurs. cook and butler shoulld hit their shots for us to win. odom should really step it up and as well as mihm. if they played the way they played in the opening night , then we may have a chance.
Man this is gonna be one interesting season this year. That was a tough loss last night. But like everybody said about game 1 it was only one game, this is a marathon not a sprint. When the Lakers lose people will trash them even if their reasons and arguments just make no sense at all. Sure they lost but some of the things that were said just hold no water if you watched the game. There are a few other things I could say about that happened in the game that were just plain ridiculus but I won't because the truth is the Lakers played horrible either way. Kobe played a decent game nothing really special, and I say that becuase we all know kobe can hit 40 a game if he wanted to but thats not the point. Just as a team they played horrible I think they were a little to happy about how well they did against denver. And as much as it hurt me to watch i'm kinda glad they lost this bad it kinda brought them back down to reality. I'm even more glad that they are playing the spurs on friday. I expect that to be even more of a lesson but the lakers will play and compete against the spurs I think it will be very interesting. ne more notable thing about bryant guys he is averaging about 18 to 19 free throw shots a game which is great that shows he is figureing out different ways to score. That is one good adjustment. Another good thing was is his new "foul jumper". I know y'all have noticed it lately he's done it about 10 to 12 times in the last two games where he holds the ball low and comes up when the defenders hand is reaching out causing the foul very nice. One last thing even though it was a extremely bad loss Lamar Odom was showing some signs lastnight. I think the lakers need to post him up more with Kobe giving the pass. And they also could do a few islations when theother teams not in zones. He may have only went 3-10 from the field but about 7 or 8 just rolled off the rim he needs to start finishing it, won't be long. Also he shot 80 percent from the line which is very nice.
I apologize realdealbneal and Kobe 8 Ball for not getting the preview up on time, I had an issue concerning how something was taken care of on JBB. I'm sure you can notice how my screen-name looks. I did threaten to leave, but since I feel too much dedication to this Laker forum, there's no way I can't leave all of it behind. Now on to the game analysis. We just wasn't in the game for all of 48 minutes. I'm not sure whether it was jetlag, the fatigue, but this wasn't the same Laker team we witnessed from Tuesday's performance against the Nuggets. We basically were outplayed, outscored, outhustled, and everything else you can think of that relates to the word dominated. Kobe tried to lead the comeback charge with 38 points total, but he only shot an erratic 9/21 from the field, and if you just look at that stat alone, it's pretty clear the supporting cast won't provide much difference either. Big up's to Kirilenko. The guy's a skinny stick, but there's a reason why he received that 86 million dollar extension. His defense was just suffocating. It doesn't get any easier Friday night fellas. Hopefully Rudy T and the boys can make adjustments accordingly.
I'm very suprised that the Lakers couldn't pull off the Win against the Jazz.didn't think it would go like that, but lets net get too upset about this one loss.
Quick note to keep in mind about this Jazz team... (I'm new here - this is my first post, though I've been eavesdropping for some time.) I currently live in UT due to work and so I've seen a lot of local hype on this Jazz team, not to mention some preseason games. THIS WAS NOT THE SAME TEAM!!! The Jazz were playing VERY well last night. (Shooting the lights out!) They usually make more rookie mistakes (handwork, footwork, positioning). However, unlike Denver, they did not give up the paint last night. In the Denver game big men challenged Kobe outside of the paint more often, giving Mihm free baskets. The Jazz stuffed the paint with their size and length, shutting down the Lakers inside game (i.e. slashing, cutting, etc). That left Kobe as the only effective player on the floor. Chalk that up to Jerry Sloan. (Vote Sloan COY!) Jazz had a good game and exposed the Lakers weakness inside, especially on the half-court set. Without large bodies inside, they need to make effective perimeter cuts/rolls and hit the 15-20 ft jumper to spread the floor a little bit. (I know, I know...not exactly a strong point in the league these days.) Otherwise, it could be a long season. Look for Rudy T to develop a half court game with this team as the season gets under way. Something a little more creative than the pick at the perimeter from the big man.
Yes, brad_jones007, just wanted to tell you welcome to JBB. We can always use some more Laker fans on the forums, so we're glad to have you. I like what I see from you so far. You know your basketball, so that's great. Thanks for joining, and keep up the good contributions. (I attempted to say this in a PM, but you can't receive any just yet)
Just out of curiousity, why are you guys so eager to leave JBB? It's just a message board, there will always be people that are negative and try to express thier beliefs through verbal attacks but hey, it's a part of life. Don't stoop to thier levels. Now, the game. I didn't get to see the game or catch the highlights but I can clearly see they got murdered. Well, here comes an even greater task in the Spurs. They won't be able to beat out the Spurs. I'm hoping I am wrong but the only chance they have is if Kobe is playing more passive and the rest of the Lakers step it up, including Odom who has dissappeared.
For the Lakers, it all starts on defense. They need to find a way to get stops, keep the Spurs off the offensive glass, and RUN THE BALL. They'll have a hard time scoring against the Spurs or any team with a solid defensive inside presence in a half court set. Oh, and Lamar Odom is going to eventually need to be able to hit a jumper, particularly when he's playing against power forwards.
I honestly dont know why everyone is shocked at the result of the Lakers-Jazz game. The Lakers have a bunch of one on one players and not a single player who can spread the floor. All the Lakers could do was try to beat their man off the dribble and attack the basket and against a team with the interior defense like the Jazz it wasnt going to work. Since the Jazz have such great defense the Lakers didnt get alot of points in transition which is their life blood(it seems to me). Any team that has good transition defense, forces the Lakers to play in the half court and has good interior defense will do this to the Lakers. Mihm was lousy and the only one who can operate in the paint with any effectiveness. If the Lakers had Vlade it would have been a little different. The game wouldnt have been the blowout that it was but the Lakers would have lost even if he was playing. That's pretty much why the Lakers got crushed like they did. No effective post prescence, no consistent outside shooting(which would have made a world of difference), and little to no transition points. And this wont be last game the Lakers get blown out in. Laker fans better bunker down and get ready because it's going to be one very cold basketball season.

I just said I was through posting on here for a while (meaning about the Lakers). It seemed like everytime I debated with someone else, I'd receive PM's about it...it's a long story though, just pulling the thread off-topic, you know? Anyways...back to topic.
omg..... when the lakers win the haters all shut up but when they lose they all come down and bash us. god this is sickening... u dont see us bashing other teams. i just dont understand why we are getting all the hate. everybody looks for the smallest negative and then all of them try to concentrate on it. i feel sorry for realdeal, he stands up for the lakers cuz he is a fan but everyone wants a piece of him because of that. but u know what... thats ok, im still gonna support the lakers no matter how much people want to see them fall.

It's in other forums, Its all over BSPN, talk radio, everywhere. I'm a die hard Laker fan. The Lakers is who I care about. I don't look at other teams wanting them to fail unless the Lakers are fighting for a playoff spot with that team. I think it's pretty sad that these guys don't like the Lakers, but they talk about them just as much if not more than their favorite teams.
