Funny how things change. I remember last summer when the trade was first mentioned almost all Orlando fans said Steve Francis was a cancer, but now every one loves him. I think the Frnachise is going to have a huge year in Orlando, but its stupid of him to take shots at T-Mac. T-Mac never had as talented a team as The Magic have now. Top through bottom and if G Hill is healthy watch out.

The only good thing TMac did for our team was that he ensured we got the #1 overall pick :beerchug:
I think this whole thing is stupid. Niether T-Mac nor Steve Franchise were cancers, its just the stupid media . they are two great players. And by the way what the edit is up with stevei JUMPING high as hell. Crazy.
Maybe, but the entire trade was not only robbery... it was GRAND THEFT. Putting the whole TMac vs Francis thing aside, we got two workhorses in Cato and Mobley and gave up two guys that couldn't play defense if their lives depended on it. The season is still young, but we'll see how the teams finish up. I have my money on us.
The Magic ripped the Rockets and Steve Francis is freakin stud! He is awesome, clutch, and makes his teamates better (Unlike Tmac). Franchise will league the magic to the playoffs and Dwight Howard will start to emerge as a great player.
All I can say is, about time we had a team that is this much fun to watch. Francis has mad hops! Anyone catch the expression on Stevie's face when they called the 6'10" center from UofF, DeClerq instead of him? Pretty big goof IMO on the announcer's part. He went to raise his hand to the crowd and then they called Drew. It was kind of funny actually. Dwight Howard is the real-deal, ya'll. The real deal!

Maybe not in points but for an all-around player he's going to be a monster... blocks, rebounds, steals, assists, etc. Won't be too long before D12 is the tripple-double king
This is only one game. There is no excuse for arguing that Francis is more valuable than McGrady. The Magic have a better team than last year, give credit to Grant Hill for that win as well.

As a matter of fact the other posts either stated that both are great players, or that they 'like' Francis better (which is the original topic of this post). Just wanting to keep the facts straight.

Besides, you guys are forgetting that this team has upgraded overall. You got a MUCH better pg. You downgraded at sg, but Mobley can still drop 17 a night. You also have Grant Hill back, and he had a great game. The fact that you won this game (on a buzzer beater no less) only goes to show that you suceeded in winning a single close game. To come and say that you like Francis more is fine, but it's not really fair after the great years that Tmac gave you.

I do feel that it is a bit excessive to call him a cancer (I prefer to think that this team was full of malignant growths lol), and I am simply stating the fact that nobody said in particular that Francis is more valuable than McGrady (and I vehemently back this because in reading these forums avidly, I have never gotten the feeling that anyone truly feels that). Perhaps with a better team, and without the added stress of having to be the big 'C' TMac would've been our saving grace.
Quoting Jurassic:

Besides, you guys are forgetting that this team has upgraded overall. Many. I am a HUGE fan of McGrady, but still can recognize the fact that even with all of his god-given talents, he was generally not the guy we originally had hoped. I wish him the best of luck in Houston. [On a more sarcastic note: TMac didn't want to be on a 'rebuilding' team therefore that's why he went to the Rockets. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sure seems that the Rockets are going through a 'rebuilding' phase now.]
The great years. Wait, please refresh my memories here. Which year are you talking about? The one where TMac blamed our team for losing after running his mouth and guaranteeing a victory? Or was it the year where we only won 21 games? TMac didn't do a damn thing for our team, please don't try to make it sound like he did.

It's just one game, and its no surprise that Francis would flourish under this up-tempo system. If anything you guys should be happy for Grant Hill because of what he?s been through these past years and still managed to play a great game. He played a very good game for someone whose been out so long and that shot came up with was a very big shot?quite possibly bigger than Steve Francis shot because Hill was in a much more difficult situation. But then again, you guys haven?t really tasted a victory like this in a while, so I don?t blame you guys if you're appreciating Francis much more than McGrady. Hopefully, Francis AND Hill can continue to play this way.

I like Franchise better now, but he's not in Tmac's league in skill. You can't say that Tmac didn't make the players better. Somehow with our bad talent last year he managed 5 or 6 assists. Tmac is a very underrated passer. I was one of the few Magic fans that liked that trade right when it happened. Francis is definetely the Franchise and he will get some triple doubles on our team this year. I'm just happy that Francis is happy to be in Orlando now. He doesn't have to be in JVG's system and he will thrive in the fast break offense that the Magic will run. I was most impressed with only 2 TO's from him last night. That was his biggest downfall last year, the TO's. I know it's only one game, but you can't help but be impressed with Francis's first game.
i never like t-mac, even he played for magic, even he scored a lot... i just dont like him... i have no comment on francis all the way, just i think he's a good player, no particular preference, but now... what can i say? FRANCIS ROCKS! hope Francis and healthy hill and growing up howard and others can bring Magic to the playoff and further more!
ITs nice to know you magics like the plague that almost destroyed the rockets inside out. even though francise did great things in rockets, the things he is doing in orlando is unmatchable. But then again, if it wasnt for Tmac, you magics would be nothing right now. Think about it. Hopefully orlando can start winning without the game winning shots, maybe win by 5-10 would be better. But good luck none the less. Rockets and Magics game is coming around the corner. Cant wait to see the results.
Francis has always been a good player, but he was a real cancer in Houston. Especially, once Van Gundy arrived, the rocket's game plans didn't match with Francis' talent. McGrady on the other hand can still score prolifically yet still dish out assists and support Yao Ming. Steve Francis will thrive and LOVE the Magic's fast play, and because of it he'll be a great asset to the Magic. You cannot say that either T-mac or Francis is better than each other because they are totally different players who thrive in different curcumstances. Basedo n pure talent alone, T-Mac is soooo much better than Francis, but under the Magic, Francis is a better asset to ahve than McGrady anf vica versa for the rockets.
After 3 games you have seen the good things that Francis can do, as the season goes on you will see why we traded him. 1. Turnovers, not only his (He already has 15 after 3 games for orlando). But his decision making tends to mess up to offensive flow of the team and that causes more turnovers. 2. His shot selection is very bad, you may have not seen that yet, but you will. I loved having francis in houston... I just wish he played SG in houston.
