<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">It's scary how similiar Bosh looks to Garnett already. Right now the SECOND UNIT (Bosh is the only starter in) is winning the game for the Raptors against the Pistons starter's. The starters will be rested when they come back in.</div> i didn't want to say it, but Bosh's combination of quickness and height brought the same comparisons in my mind. if bosh's outside jumper is a mainstay throughout the season, look out...
What did I tell you. Houstons half court was easier to defend, but the Raptors transition offence is harder for the Pistons.
Sad thing about this loss for the Pistons is the fact they let Loren Woods dominate and get a double double. Pistons couldn't get anything to go in the 4th quarter and when they were given chances to comeback they failed to do so. Raptors are certainly much improved and If they stay heathly will be in the playoffs, they have started the season off very well indeed. Pistons need to pick themselves up for tomorrow, they looked like a lottery team tonight.
damn. there goes our perfect season. not to take anything away from the Raptors, but we get any decent bench production (bench scored 8 points) and this game would have been a win.
What did i tell everyone, my raps were gonna win. But they played better than i thought especially considering how poorly Vince played, the lack of going to the line. No doubt like Allnet said, injuries are the key. They would have made it last year, but injuries. So far so good.
Whoo, I'm loving this. Just came back from work and I heard on the radio that the Raptors beat the Pistons, I was like ...then ...then ....but I lost 3 bucks on a bet haha. Nonetheless, I heard Bosh was killing it. And I think Loren Woods is turning out to be an underrated player if he keeps up his efforts. I'm loving this new Raptors team's run and gun style. The East's Denver Nuggets of last year. I pray that they don't go on an injury streak and lose all of thier starters in one week like they did last year. If they stay healthy....look out. Bosh= Really trained in the off-season. Future looks real bright.
Bosh has amazing movement and a rpetty good perimeter shot. Loren Woods had his same ustle he had against Houston. and Spawn, don't Jinx it. I like how Araujo played no minutes, but Bonner did, Araujo had some sub par performance during the first game, esapecially for an eigth pick(which i still question to this day). Th Pistons were doing a good job in the first bit of the game, off fto an early lead, but they were way to relaxed. They had a couple of breaks(where's the de Vince?) and asome plsets for both teams were pretty ugly, but I'm very happy for the win(screwa all the pistons fans @ the ACC). Now, about Bosh being the Next Garnett....
The Raptors scored 101 points on the Pistons, let me say that again, 101 points, how did that happen...
The ego has hit the Pistons... they thought it would be a cakewalk TORONTO (AP) -- Ben Wallace acknowledged the NBA champion Detroit Pistons took the Toronto Raptors lightly. "We thought it was going to be a cake walk," Wallace said. Source: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/bask...s.ap/index.html but who could blame them after they won it all last year and the Raps being a bottom team last year? But let's give the credit to the Raps, the coaching change has really made them fun to watch and made the players fun to play the game. I always think to beat the Pistons you gotta score and score and score (and I know it's darn difficult) with the purpose being to change the pace of the game into the faster one. If you're successful you'll hit a jackpot. If the pace keeps being played at the slow Pistons rate, where the Pistons are very comfortable then there's very little chance of beating them. The key is to make the Pistons play faster and I guess that's what the Raps did tonight.

KG is all heart. Thats what seperates him from the rest..... But I really like BOSH. I was pissed when I couldn't draft him in my fantasy league. I would have took him over SHAQ. Shaq has big numbers but makes FT percentages go down to ish.....

If you followed them last year you would know they took certain bad teams easy and ended up losing a few of those games. No one expected the Pistons to go 82-0 or to beat all the teams they are suppose to beat. This league is not NBA live, the reality is on any given night any team can beat the other.

LMAO.... nice purple... he just about summed it up right there... maybe the pistons did take this game lightly but i felt they could have came back in the end but they didnt thx to carter, and bosh will have a breakout season so will woods, and yes... lamond murray. play-off berth here we come..
Purple Fever, there is no need for you to quote every prediction another poster makes on the game and rub It in that he was wrong. Keep it strickly about the game, no taunting is needed.

But it really irritates me seeing how almost every NBA fan underestimates my team, and don't give us credit where it's due. You expect a win because you're confident that you're better than the other team, which is fine. But when you think it's gonna be a cake walk, you think the other team is not going to be able to fight back on the defensive and offensive end, which can be said as underestimating. Being confident is okay but underestimating is what makes great teams like them fall. I agree this is no NBA Live  but this is not as unpredictable as soccer either. No matter what adjustment made by the Raptors, they're still fairly new to the system and had the Pistons given their all on both ends they would have won this pretty handily. They should have realised this by the 2nd quarter or start of second half that the Raps were no joke and they shouldn't have messed around with them a little further. But, guess they still did but I'm not blaming the Pistons, this group is champ for the first time, and it's also the first time they get a chance to defend the title, which is tougher, I think it's going to take them a little while to overcome this ego, but they'll figure it out.

No excuses needed to be heard because the Pistons were clearly beaten. By 12. The Raptors just wanted to win more, simple as that. And saying that an NBA team was going to be "cakewalk" is showing some arrogance but I guess it's reasonable since they were the NBA Champs and the Raptors are just some team who can run with a new coach and a disgruntled star (I'm not being sarcastic, I understand why Ben Wallace would have that kind of mentality)

The Pistons were very underrated by fans and the media last year but when they make an impact in the playoffs all that changed. If the Raptors keep up their winning ways they will get more and more respect as the season goes on, they have started well but for people to sit up and notice and think they are a good basketball team they need to stay consistant. There's no need to delete your post as you didn't insult anyone but as long as you aren't trying to bait anyone then It's all fine.
