Game 3 for the Kings will take place against the Houston Rockets who Have T-Mac & Yao as a powerful duo,as they take on the Kings Saturday Afternoon. This is going to be a tough game to win against the Rockets,as i forsee T-Mac & Yao being hard to defend against, but we need a great effort from Peja,Miller,Bibby and C-Webb in order to get a win against the Rockets. We need a great Defensive effort in order to have a chance of winning here. Any thoughts on the game?
Here's something special, from your favorite Laker fan (shocked?)
Sacramento Kings (0-2) @ Houston Rockets (1-2) Saturday, November 6th Time: 5:30 p.m. TV: CSN-Sacramento, NBATV Previous Games: Kings @ Spurs 101-85 L Rockets @ Raptors 95-88 L Projected Starting Lineups KINGS (Rick Adelman) (Mike Bibby, Doug Christie, Peja Stojakovic, Chris Webber, Brad Miller) VS ROCKETS (Jeff Van Gundy) (Charlie Ward, Tracy McGrady, Jim Jackson, Maurice Taylor, Yao Ming) ------------------------------ Factors off the Bench (Bobby Jackson, Juwan Howard) Game MVPs (Mike Bibby, Yao Ming)
Brandon's Analysis This game will be a tough one for both teams. The Rockets are going to have to rely on Jim Jackson's perimeter defense to hold Peja to limited shots, while the Kings are going to focus on "disconnecting" the McGrady/Yao connection that has yet to be put into effect in their first two games. Mike Bibby should have a great game against Ward and Lue...but expect the same from Yao Ming, who may find it easier to win the battle against Miller when McGrady slashes to the hoop. Yao should focus on grabbing boards and making putbacks, while Miller should work on getting position under the basket and keeping Ming away from Webber's jumpers. One thing the Kings are lacking is defense. Christie will be obligated to make the stop against McGrady on each play. However, Doug can't get caught up in T-Mac's perimeter shooting, because his first step will leave him trailing a driving T-Mac. The Kings also need to draw the double-team against the Rockets, to get open looks for Peja in the corner. The Rockets are having problems with their offense. It seems as if they are wasting too much time off the clock setting screens and not creating shots for themselves...therefore, it's up to the ball-handler with 6 on the clock to create for himself. The Rockets need to avoid the double-team, especially in this game, because it'll leave open a shooter. Brandon's Prediction The Rockets will want to slow the game down for Yao in the paint, but the Kings will keep pushing down the court. Expect the Kings to pick up a lead with fast breaks, but Yao will slow them down with his presence in the paint late in the 3rd. This one should be close, but the Kings will have an advantage because the Rockets won't be able to regroup after the double teams. This game belongs to Sacramento, 98-92.
Well, the Rockets will have a game against Memphis tomorrow night before facing Sactown, so their performance on Saturday will depend on how well they do against Memphis. If they do beat Memphis tomorrow, then their spirits will be high on Saturday and thus have a much better chance of winning. I still doubt Yao's effectiveness. Although he did have 17 points against Toronto, he attempted 10 free throws and made 7 of them. He only made 5 field goals, and didn't really shoot well. Loren Woods did a great job of guarding him, and Yao looked frustrated. Miller is a physical defender and I think he will get into Yao's nerves and cause Yao to perform badly again. Expect McGrady to have huge game though, since Christie's defense will be missing. EDIT: Isn't Christie injured? DOUBLE EDIT: Never mind, Christie's back. Anyways, I'll post my prediction after the game against Memphis tomorrow.

Niether team has been very impressive so far. Yao may have some problems against Brad Miller. McGrady will be harassed as well by Doug Christie. It's a tough one to call. I'd have to say the Rockets. Lately theyve been beating themselves. Havent really gotten themselves together yet. I'm certain Van Gundy will get his team on the same page again.
Hopefully the Kings will be able to get a w out of the texas triangle (which is a brutal start to the season) and will be able to carry that momentum on into their home opener on Tuesday against Toronto.
I'd like to see a Kings win here. But i'm not too sure if we can get our Defensive game on against Yao & T-Mac. But we are going to have to keep up,and try to stop both of them as best as we can.i expect a good effort from Webber,Bibby,Miller, and the rest of the Kings.so maybe it will be a good game. Go Kings
This is double-preview night! Have any comments for us Rockets fellas Kings fans? The preview from a Rockets fan's point of view is right here.
Half Time, Kings up 8. We're really looking good on defense tonight. Bibby was on fire leading all with 16. Webber and Peja not shooting too well so far but they still have the lead.
There are some definite issues with the Kings defense going on right now. I still stand by my 55 win prediction... but now everyone understands what I was talking about when I said there was no way this team is going to do anything really spectacular this year unless they specifically focus on defense
The Kings had a decent lead at the half, only to see the lack of Defense ruin it for the Kings. ...but the Kings held their own ground with Bibby's 31 points,so it wasn't that bad of a game, but the sad part is we actually could have won it :thumbsdow Were 0-3,and quite frankly we should be playing better with a team we have here.so the Kings are just going to get tough, and get their Defensive scheme on,or else
