Vikings | Moss Traded to Oakland? - from www.KFFL.com Wed, 23 Feb 2005 13:21:40 -0800 Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings WR Randy Moss' agent, Dante DiTrapano, has said the Vikings have agreed to trade Moss to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for the seventh-overall selection in the 2005 NFL Draft, a late-round 2005 draft pick and LB Napoleon Harris. NFL trades cannot become official until March. "Nothing is official until March 2," DiTrapano told the Pioneer Press Wednesday, Feb. 23. "But don't be surprised if Randy Moss is wearing the Silver and Black this upcoming season." The Raiders will assume Moss' $7.25 million base salary for 2005 while the Vikings receive a cap savings of nearly $2 million. Moss has four seasons remaining on his contract.
Well the vikes got nothing close to what the rumors were, but that is why they are rumors. Basically they got an average backer, not even a top 45 player, the 7th pick in the draft, and a later round pick. Napolean harris, has only one season wiht 100 tackes, 2.5 sacks in 3 years and 0 picks, 3 FF, and 0 FR and 5 PD.
Did he really get traded to Oakland? I didnt hear about it. Well I heard about it now, thanks for the link. Damn I wanted Atlanta to get Moss, but Moss a Raider that will be weird.

Damn if he did I wanted Atlanta to get Moss.</div> It is not official. But the deal is done in principal. It is up at the bigger sports websites, including a certain TV network. Plus, thier is the link i posted above
Oh yeah saw the link after, thanks. True its not official, but still if it does go down what a change that will be.
http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8222133 heres a full story. idk about anyone else but does anyone feel the Vikes could have gotten a better deal else where. The Jets could have given Cowert and a 1st rounder plus later round pick. whatever the Jets have the 25th pick or something raiders have the 7th. anyway it doesnt matter they need a qb to throw to him first.

It is not close to the ludicrous suggestions of his value some had.
Looks like a much better deal for the Vikings than for the Raiders... Good for them! (As much as that pains me to say...)
I think the Raiders just screwed themselves....Imagine the Viks D if they trade their late 1st to Miami for Surtain, then draft the best defensive player available at #7(Antrel Rolle perhaps)....all of the sudden, the "d" dont look so bad....
Id be thrilled, you got a good young backer the 7th overall pick, a lower round pick, and you remove that rather large cancer thats been tearing your team apart....this move has the potential to put them in a position to be very good for a long time
I don't see how Minnesota thought this was a "fair" trade. As an Eagles fan, I'm glad he's out of the NFC. I think Viking fans got taken
