<div class="quote_poster">Quoting durvasa:</div><div class="quote_post">That list looks pretty good to me. So you rank Wade ahead of Carmelo Anthony? I think one could also make a case for Baron Davis, Stephon Marbury, Ray Allen, or Peja to be in the top 15.</div> Yeah, I believe Wade is better than Melo. I don't like Melo's shot selection at times, and he's more inconsistent as far as shooting goes, compared to Dwyane. And like I said...I know I left out a few guys. I don't know about Peja, because all he has is a shot...but Davis, Marbury and Allen, that's a different story.
Are you crazy, mid 30s??? SO many people underrate him. He's at least top 25 AT LEAST. Should definatly considered top 20. Top 15 is iffy depeding how he does this season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">I wasn't putting him as a Top 10 Player, I was just listing him as one of the many players that I think are, and will be better than Dwyane, at the end of the season. The Reasons I think he's a better player than Wade Right Now is mostly because of his versitility and jumper. He can play 3 posistions, pass the ball extremely well, solid defense (still improving), and his jumper is more consistant, even though it isn't great, than Wades. LeBron also has many ways to score because of matchups. He can post you up because he's so big, he can drive on you (Wade has a plus on that over James), he can turn around and shoot over you, and he can score with more ease. LeBron is a more complete scorer and player than Wade at the moment, which is why I see him as a better player.</div> Wade's jumper has actually also improved, so they could be aobut even in that, but the only thing I wonder about Lebron is for a guy that is so athletic and drives so much, how in the world do you shoot 41% Better pick that up to about 45% this season.
Wade's advantage over all the other guards is his FG%... it's not mostly from shooting no, but it's still insanely high. Right now over 3 games in the regular season it's about 56%... that is just crazy. Bron is lucky to get 45% in 1 game. Wade has a huge advantage there. And I also think Wade's turned into an equivalant passer to LBJ. He has more knowledge of the game than 'Bron. Wade and Bron both are matured way beyond their age... leaving Melo in the dust
Wade broke 3 or 4 career records tonight. He looked unguardable. And he was landing 1/2 of the shots he got fouled on. Too much to list. You had to see the game to really understand how great he played. Btw did anyone see how the pistons got whooped by the Raptors
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Wade:</div><div class="quote_post">Are you crazy, mid 30s??? SO many people underrate him. He's at least top 25 AT LEAST. Should definatly considered top 20. All I'm sayin is Wade is gonna put up a fg% this season not seen by a guard since Michael Jordan (53% best) and Magic Johnson (56% best). It's a real possibility he can average 50% this season. What top guard currently playing in the NBA . last season or . in their rookie season (or whenever they got minutes) had a better FG% than Wade? Kobe, T-Mac, Vince Carter tied or came close in their rookie seasons but not last season. Imagine what he's capable of and imagine how much Shaq is gonna allow him to blossom. Wade has proven to be great without Shaq so having Shaq around is just gonna make him a lot better. If there's a guard in the NBA that is a top 10 player, Wade will be better than them by the end of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting heatfan83:</div><div class="quote_post">If there's a guard in the NBA that is a top 10 player, Wade will be better than them by the end of the season.</div> Come on. Wade > Kobe, McGrady, Carter, Pierce, Iverson, Francis, Kidd, Allen, Davis, or Finley? I'll take the last guy as an example, Michael Finley. He shoots a career average of 45%, with a couple of seasons at 47% (first two seasons, actually). This year, he's shooting 60%...so does that mean I assume he's one of the best SG's in the league? Jason Kidd is actually a poor shooter...but I'd choose a healthy Kidd over Dwyane Wade any day of the week. Again...Wade is good and really impressing me...but there's no way he's going to be in the Top 10 this soon, let alone what you said about being better than all the other guards in the league by the end of the year.
I remember an old article written over the summer by Bill Simmons, the ESPN Sports guy. He ranked the top 50 players through a very specific kind of value system, accounting for long term potential and trade value and current talent. I recall that Wade was #10 on that list, too. I would have posted a link to the article, but insider is now required for it. At the end of the season, though, is a pretty aggressive prediction. I like Wade too, but the talent is pretty well spread out in the league.
End of the season Wade's guaranteed a top 15 spot in the League. Don't disagree please, I mean he's just astonishing. End of next year he'll be a top 5 player... he's gonna keep improving.
Man, you really have mad high hopes, some Lebron fans would hesitate to say he'll be top 5, and I'm a huge Wade fan, but top 5 is the 3 bigs we all know, Kobe, and many time people will have Tmac.
If Wade keeps up his averages of 28, 7 and 6 then he would be a top 5 player in my book. Of course that likely won't happen but If he manages to average 23, 6 and 6 then I would consider that a top 10 player. There are a few current top 10 players who are struggling with injury so right now he is right up there.
You also have to remember that being a top player in the league doesn't just include statistics. Otherwise, McGrady and Iverson would be ranked over everyone else for winning scoring titles.

Mcgrady is currently top 5 player and Iverson is still in the top 8 as far as I'm concerned. You don't put up 28,7 and 6 without being GREAT. Stats don't always tell the story of how good a player is but they do 90% of the time.
Not really because McGrady and Iverson had other stats that didn't help so much, Iverson's FG% for one didn't help him, and compared to KG or Duncan, their few more points doesn't equate to the rebounds, blocks, high percentage shooting etc that they have. Anyways, I think he can maintain a 20-5-6 with about 50% shooting, the rebounds could be something more like 4.5, that could sky rocket him up, but I'd think more like in the top 20 range.
Obviously Iverson doesn't measure up to guys like Garnett and Duncan but he is still a former league MVP who carried his team to the finals. His FG% is no real different than to some of the other top shooting guards in the NBA, the league is getting worse in terms of the top guards shooting %, I honestly don't really see that as much of a factor. AI's heart and leadership made him great and really was the difference from just a great scorer. Players effects on the game makes them great, Mcgrady has one bad year (team wise) and people suddenly think his stats were meanlingless.
Top 10 not yet. only if it was PG only maybe so. but as long as you have Shaq on your team you will look better then what you really are. What is MJ played with Shaq how many more titles would he have won? or If you put Shaq with Duncan or KG how much better would these(Tim,KG) guys be. I thought Wade and Melo were robbed from winning ROY but that's the way the legend works sometimes.
