Marshall and Ratliff for Redd What's up, well i offered this trade and it got accepted, there is a waiting period, so i guess i can make a noble attempt to stop it, but i thought it was a good trade. I'm getting Michael Redd. Donyell Marshall is playing pretty poorly right now, I tried Marshall straight up, but i wanted this to happen so added ratliff in, who i know is crazy in blocks, but that's it. redd didn't have a great first game either, but i thought redd has better potential then marshall and ratliff combined. Here's my team with marshall and ratliff: Out of 12 teams.. PG Lebron James SG Larry Hughes G Dwayne Wade SF Antoine Walker PF Pau Gasol F Drew Gooden C Yao Ming C Jamal Magloire Util Gerald Wallace Util Josh Childress Bench Eddy Curry Bench Theo Ratliff Bench Ben Gordon IL Donyell Marshall Is this a good trade? My team is very poor in 3pt shooting, so i though Redd would help. i must add he needs a center pretty bad, right now one of them is brian grant.. i dropped marquis daniels hoping to pick him up in the next few days, but some idiot picked him up, i'll have to live w/out him cuz he's asking too much for him. at least i got him in my other league. NEW TRADE PENDING SEE BOTTOM POST..this one didn't go down..i wish it did though..
I personally don't like this trade. Donyell this year will give you (i project) 10 points and 7 rebounds along with blocks, steals, field goal %, and some 3 pointers. It really depends on what type of league your in and the cats. your playing with. Michael Redd will give you the points, and from what i see you have plenty of that. Giving up Theo Ratliff is just stupid, you need his rebounding and blocks to keep you ahead of your opponent in those categories.

It's an ok trade. Marshall's production has been pretty poor so far, and doesn't look to be improving, and with Ratliff, you are just missing a bunch of blocks. For your empty starting spot, Nocioni will kill your FG%, but he shoots a lot of threes. Otherwise, Igoudala has been giving a healthy dose of well-rounded but unspectacular stats.
well i got the trade cancelled, surprisingly we both kind of retracted on the trade, i guess we both thought we were getting ripped off. i did it cuz marshall is playing pretty good in the game right now against portland, 16 and 7 isn't that bad and the game still has a few minutes left, but nothing else besides that, hopefully he'll become comfortable playing off the bench. ratliff has 6 blocks, but that's really it.. i must admit drew gooden is pretty disappointing.. thanks for your guys inputs. i still need to think about trading for a 3pt shooter though and ft% is terrible and i don't even have shaq, lol, (antoine walker mostly)..
That's a joke. Who would ever give up a future superstar in Redd for Marshall and the one-dimensional Ratliff?
Even though Ratliff is one dimensional, he's worth a spot. He's going to be top 5 in blocks and also get enough rebounds to be effective as a center. Marshall is going to be up and down unfortunately but gets blocks, threes, rebounds and points - the stats of a mid-level fantasy center (unfortunately without center eligibility). Redd is one dimensional, too, because he's mainly a scorer; or two dimensional with threes. He doesn't consistently get the rebounds or assists that other SGs get, and he definitely doesn't help in other categories. Still, he scores so much that if you need points, it would have been a good trade.
i prob wud have added Igoudala to make a run at peja? but i dont thin you sould do it becuz u really dont need too much scoring with lebron, wade, and walker

well my team changed a bit, marquis (i know he's my favorite, i'll pick him up a little later hopefully) was dropped because some idiot actually dropped curry, so i picked him up. well my ranking is only 5 so far out of 12. so i don't know, my team looks decent on paper, but they're playing pretty poorly. i offered him these trades: Gasol, Marshall, Ratliff for Stoudamire, Redd Gasol, Marshall, Magloire for Pierce, Stoudamire and then to another guy...i offered.. Ratliff, Marshall, Magloire for Ak47, Okur, i doubt he'll accept it, but worth a try right.. should i just leave my team alone? in another league i got burned i offered wade and okur for miller. wade is going crazy right now..and so am i, but i think his production will reduce when shaq starts playing like shaq. nevertheless i'm trying to give 2 for 1, or 3 for 2, so i don't have someone like gooden or ratliff sitting on the bench. well at least it's just a game..
Let me put it this way, you want to grab players that will win you categories and not hurt you in others. Theo blows in pts, etc. but he's GREAT for blocks and alone can win you some games. Redd is solid and the trade is a push. It really depends on Marshall. Once he gets going (if I should say) he's a great fantasy player. Good luck!
Redd's FG is neither great nor bad; it's good for a guard (around the average, 44% or so). In addition he has been shooting less threes each year, I think because people realize how good of a shooter he is and have been closing out on him. As far as your team, depth is good for injuries. Just move in who you need and put in who's hot, that's how I work.
Well I hate to ressurect an old thread, but this is a trade that is pending right now..at the time i thought it was a good deal, but marshall is back and had a pretty good game tonight 12 pts, 7rbnds, 1 stl, 1 blk, 2 3's, 55%, his playing time is up in the air, so i don't know, i think i should just let this trade go through and not look back because i wish i did the earlier trade, but it got vetoed by the league, and i voted against it to. Trade away: Gasol, Marshall, Ratliff, G. Wallace Recieve: Redd, Van Horne It looks like i'm giving up a lot, but i don't think i am..i don't know though, marshall and ratliff are on my bench anyways, so i don't think they should matter. gasol isn't playing as great as i thought he was, but it's tough to let him go. wallace is iffy. ratliff is good for blocks that's it. marshall..is back and looked pretty good tonight. redd is great with 3 pters and so is van horn, who's having a pretty good year too. the roster with those 4 guys are at the first post. should i start curry over childress? i like childress quite a bit..

Firstly, Gasol might get more playing time. With Hubie gone, the 12 man rotation could be gone which would mean Pau gets more than 30 minutes a game. And think, if he can get you 17/8 in 30 minutes....give him another 10 and you could be looking at about 22/10, something around there. I wouldn't give up on him quite yet. Gerald Wallace has been somewhat of a disappointment, but it's still early. He's very capable of exploding at some point, and you don't want to not have him when that happens. However, he does have some downpoints, free throw shooting and hitting the longball are some of those. So, again, not sure if I'd give up on him. Since Ratliff and Marshall are on the bench, who cares. So, in the end, it actually comes down to Redd/Van Horn for Gasol/Wallace. Aside from what I've listed, the other big factor is the fact that Michael Redd and Keith Van Horn are teammates. That can really hurt at times when you have teammates on your team. Production could dip one game because the other had a big game, you never really know when that's going to happen. But, in the end, it could be a good risk. They've each been great this year. They each can fill up numerous statlines, those including things such as 3s, FGs, FT%, etc. In other words, a lot of offense. Defense, KVH won't give much as there are reasons why people call him soft. So, I don't know. It's almost a win/win situation. It's really up to you whether to go through with it or not.
I would do it because you need perimeter shooting and you have guys that can you rebounds. Ratliff hasen't been playing great this year and Michael Redd is the star on the Bucks so he will put up great numbers.
