@
Suns - 2-0 Nets - 1-1 Time? 9:00 EST 6:00 PST
Fact from last Game: Quentin Richardson comes off the bench but plays 39 minutes! Probable Starters: Point Guards: Jacque Vaughn/Steve Nash Shooting Guards: Ron Mercer/Joe Johnson Small Forwards: Richard Jefferson/Shawn Marion Power Forwards: Eric Williams/Amare Stoudemire Huh? Williams is going to cover AMARE?!? Not really, Williams will probably be playing Jackson Vroman until he comes out (it was 5 minutes last night) and then will probably switch to covering Quentin Richardson. Centers: Jason Collins/Jackson Vroman 6th Man: Quentin Richardson/Alonzo Mourning Why isn't Quentin Starting? Quentin IMO should be starting, last night Jackson Vroman played 5 minutes, Quentin subed in and then played 39 minutes after that. Bobby Jones with the Sixers in the 80's was the same way, I think it's chemistry. Matchups to watch out for: The two all-stars meet for the first of their 2 meetings both after having outstanding games last night. Jefferson might be a little worn out after playing the Bulls for 2 extra periods last night, in which he droped 26 points, 21 boards, and 9 assits including a number of clutch shots. Marion also had an all-star caliber game with 24 points, 11 boards, and 4 steals. ----------------------------------------------------------------- vs. Amare Stoudemire vs. The Nets front court. The Nets will have to contain Amare from taking off in this one if they even want a shot at it. Amare dropped a team high 29 points, and 10 boards against the Sixers. The Nets should try to keep him from exploding and having a 25+ point game. --------------------------------------------- CourtKing's Outlook: The Suns coming off two impressive double digit wins over the Hawks and Sixers will take their talent against the Nets. Look for the Suns to spread the floor like they did last night, drive and dish it out for three. Phoenix should also try to give the ball to Amare as many times as possible in the begining stages of what can turn out to be a blow out. Johnson should follow up his very nice game verses the Sixers quite nicely against the Nets, I'll expect 15-20 points from JJ, with 3-4 three balls. High for the Nets should be Richard Jefferson again with an all-star type night, expect 20+ points from the 6-7 forward from Arizona as he will try to put the Nets on his back and carry them to victory. ------------------------------------------------------ Keys to the Game for the Suns: -Get their shots to fall Quentin Richardson who is following up a 15 point performance needs to show the Suns that he is consistant, and can put up 15 on any night. Marion, JJ, or Richardson one of them will need their shots to fall for the Suns to stay in this game. -Feed it to the big fella Getting the ball to Amare will be key with the Nets not having a real good low post defensive player. Get it to him early and often and he can explode for a huge game. -Fast Break Points Like always for this young athletic team, the Suns will have to get the break going, force some turnovers and run. Points off turnovers will be a key stat tonight. ---------------------------------
Prediction:
Suns move to 3-0 winning 102-99 in a surprise close one.
Nice preview, Courtking, and I agree with you, the Suns will win this one. I don't see as much of a surprise either. If the Suns would get a legit cneter in there, this team would really make some noise...
Jackson Vroman is a center? Honestly I never heard of the dude in my life but cbs.sportsline.com(check the Boxscore) got dude listed as a guard. I guess they wrong..
He is a center/power forward, he was a 2nd round pick in this year's draft, from Iowa State I think. He wasn't that bad at Iowa State, if I recall.
