Each team has to go through a tough stretch and the toughest schedule for the mavs this season is just 2 weeks away. 10 games against top playoff quality teams. I'll be happy to see the mavs finish atleast 5-5 during this stretch and will definitely show the character of the team. November ------------- Sun 21 @ Denver 8:00pm Mon 22 Minnesota 7:30pm Wed 24 @ San Antonio 7:30pm Fri 26 Portland 12:00pm Sat 27 @ Memphis 7:00pm Tue 30 San Antonio 7:30pm December ------------- Thu 2 Houston 7:00pm Sat 4 Utah 7:30pm Mon 6 Detroit 7:30pm Tue 7 @ Minnesota 7:00pm
Here are my predictions Sun 21 @ Denver 8:00pm W Mon 22 Minnesota 7:30pm L Wed 24 @ San Antonio 7:30pm L Fri 26 Portland 12:00pm W Sat 27 @ Memphis 7:00pm W Tue 30 San Antonio 7:30pm W Thu 2 Houston 7:00pm Sat 4 Utah 7:30pm W Mon 6 Detroit 7:30pm W The only 2 losses I think they will have is on the road agaisnt Minnesota and San Antiono, but when they play them at AAC I think they can pull it off.
In the more immediate future, they have seven games before this stretch. Only Miami and Phoenix are real threats. They need to take care of buisness and go into this tough stretch no worst than 10-2, hopefully better. It has been a real benefit for them to play so well, even though they made so many changes. Although these games are early in the season, a winning streak will give the guys like Dampier and Terry confidence (having never played for a winning team). It will also help them get home court advantage in the playoffs since teams like Houston haven't hit their stride.
With Seattle playing great ball lately, its really a 12 tough game stretch beginning next week. November ------------- Sun 21 @ Denver 8:00pm Mon 22 Minnesota 7:30pm Wed 24 @ San Antonio 7:30pm Fri 26 Portland 12:00pm Sat 27 @ Memphis 7:00pm Tue 30 San Antonio 7:30pm December ------------- Thu 2 Houston 7:00pm Sat 4 Utah 7:30pm Mon 6 Detroit 7:30pm Tue 7 @ Minnesota 7:00pm Thu 9 Seattle 7:30pm Sat 11 @ Houston 7:30pm Hope Finley's back by then..
They way the Mavericks have been playing I wouldnt be surprised if they come out undefeated in this stretch. True enough in Minnesota how will they stop Garnett, Spree, etc.. but how would Minn. stop the Dallas bench. I can honelsty say they have finally got chemistry right and we are playing great basketball.
^^^^Now that's a true fan Undefeated most definitely. The mavs can do it, but the one's against Minnesota and Memphis will be back to back, and last season Minnesota beat us both times we came off of a Game before it. Dirk always plays great against Garnett but no body will ever point that out so my feelings is that we will be lucky to come out of this over .500. (just in this stretch) But i hope with all of my heart that i'm wrong. You also forgot that Nash is coming home before this stretch also.
November ------------- Sun 21 @ Denver 8:00pm W Mon 22 Minnesota 7:30pm L Wed 24 @ San Antonio 7:30pm L Fri 26 Portland 12:00pm W Sat 27 @ Memphis 7:00pm W Tue 30 San Antonio 7:30pm L December ------------- Thu 2 Houston 7:00pm W Sat 4 Utah 7:30pm W Mon 6 Detroit 7:30pm L Tue 7 @ Minnesota 7:00pm L I predict 5-5 from a neutral guy who doesn't like or dislike the mav's
OK..Here we go fellas. It all starts now. Anything better than 6-6 would be great.(14-8) after this schedule.
Yeh, this team, right now, is not ready for this stretch. The defense is pretty darn good, but they don't have any half court offense and can't seem to get anything on the fast break. Dirk is the leader out there, but he's doing too much on his own, and the rest of the team is just playing one on one ball out there. Stackhouse needs to return to his form of a couple games ago, the last two have been horrible, at a time we really need him. Jason Terry hasn't been great either, and Devin Harris has been great, but he's too green to run the half court sets. Finley's return would be a huge boost, but that probably won't happen for some time.
Marquis is filling in him for though great. The more are young guys produce, the more we`ll succeed. Up next, the Hubie-less Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis looked real bad today. I'm hoping to be a easy one tomorrow. Stackhouse has been disappointing lately. I was expecting him to take over Finley's stats. Dampier had a good game today. Stack and Damp really need to be consistent everyday.
3-4 so far. They need to continue to play like they did against Houston. I expect them to beat Utah and Detroit in the next 2 games. November ------------- Sun 21 @ Denver 8:00pm Loss Mon 22 Minnesota 7:30pm Loss Wed 24 @ San Antonio 7:30pm Loss Fri 26 Portland 12:00pm Win Sat 27 @ Memphis 7:00pm Win Tue 30 San Antonio 7:30pm Loss December ------------- Thu 2 Houston 7:00pm Win Sat 4 Utah 7:30pm Mon 6 Detroit 7:30pm Tue 7 @ Minnesota 7:00pm Thu 9 Seattle 7:30pm Sat 11 @ Houston 7:30pm
I think the next stretch of 8 games after this will be very theraputic for the team's record. 5 cellar dwellers and only on team (Denver) with a winning record. But gotta take care of Seattle and Houston first, both doable, I think.
We need good perimeter defense against Seattle to stop them from bombing 3 pointers. Other than that, Need to stop Danny Fortson and Rashard Lewis from having better than their average game. Houston will look for revenge after the tough loss on national TV. It'll be another close one. But I expect the mavs to be victorious again
i worry more about the games against losing record teams. dallas seems to like to take them easy and lose.
