<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Charlie Ward is trying to show the Rockets they didn't make a mistake when they signed him during the offseason. Few other teams wanted to take a chance on the 11-year veteran, let alone make him a starting point guard. But five games into the regular season, the Rockets are hardly regretting anything. Ward proved again on Saturday night in the Rockets' home opener that he can still play. He hit three clutch 3-pointers late in the game, including two in overtime to lift his team to a 104-101 victory over the Sacramento Kings. "I'm a very competitive person, and I just like to have an opportunity to do what I do," said Ward, who finished with 14 points and seven assists. "I'm just so overjoyed that I have another opportunity to come out and do what I'm capable of doing.</div> Link After poor performances in the season's first few games, Ward came up big last night. Despite Yao's dominating performance, I won't hesitate to say that Ward was the MVP for us against the Kings. Sinking two dagger threes in a row in the final minute and handing out 7 assists should be a performance to be remembered. I hope that this will somewhat change the negative impression that a lot of us Rockets fans have against Ward.

I also took a chance with him on my fantasy team over Lue. But he's not a very good fantasy player, good for a late round though and good cuz he's a starter (for now).
Don'r know if one game will proves Ward's worth. It depends on how consistant he is at doing what he did against the Kings.
Well, we don't need Ward to do what he did against the Kings consistently. All we need from him is a consistent three-point shot and not so many turnovers. However, the 14/7 performance was a bonus too.
I think Ward is still nice as a starting PG...hes showing he can do what he was brought here to do...pass and shoot open 3s...he needs to work at controlling the turnovers a bit but that will come with more familarity with the offense...
