Do you think with how good Wilcox has been playing he'll be able to keep his spot as starting center even though he's a PF when Kaman returns? I know last year he was also doing good, but got moved to the bench, but he's had some great games, and is really playing well out there with Maggette and Brand, and it might not be a bad option to have him as the starter.
I haven't seen a single game but always keep up on the internet play by play and over the radio and I think Wilcox is great. I don't think I would miss Kaman at all with Wilcox playing like this. Kaman should be the backup man. I look at stats and plays and I see nothing but good things with Wilcox. I think if they play him more, he could be even better. He's got potential to be the next top scorer for the team....shoot, he already is now. Now if you mention Marko Jaric, that's a different story and I say give him da boot...hahahaha.
Yes, but the only thing with me about Wilcox is his shot blocking, he's a mad athlete, but he's not a shot blocker at all, and also he's only 6'10, so it might give him some problems, but I guess his blocking is fine with Brand at the PF spot.
yeah, that's a tough one with his height and all....but i hope they work something out to keep Wilcox in a starting position though.
Wilcox is a good player but I think when Kaman comes back they will start him in the middle and bring Wilcox off of the bench. I don't think Kaman is the type of player to come off the bench and become a factor for you. IMO he needs to start to be effective. Wilcox on the other hand brings you energy whenever he is on the court and would be perfectly suited for a 6th man role with LA. BTW for Wilcox to be successful in this league I think he needs to leave LA and go somewhere where he can start. Neither Brand or Kaman will leave LA anytime soon and those are the only positions that Wilcox can start in.

I think in the off-season, the team needs to look into getting a young SG, and maybe doing a sign and trade with Wilcox. Their's a lot of guys on the market, Flip Murray, Michael Redd [ahh], and some others. I wouldn't trade Wilcox for Flip though, and Redd will be realll hard to get, but we'll see. Kittles isn't bad, but those guys would be much better, their's also Joe Johnson.

Nice mid-range jumper and he is pretty strong for his position but I dont' think he can keep up his play for the whole season. I saw the stat line on the other two games and he just killed it so I was a little dissapointed.
No, not really, he's a good 6th or 7th man, but he's definately not the future for the team at the 2 spot. The team's going to need someone who can hit the outside shot there, as Maggette isn't really a three point shooter even though he can hit it, and Livingston who is the future PG isn't an outside shooter. He's only starting because Kittles is injured, but I like him because he plays tough and plays well defensively, but he just doesn't have the talent to be a full time starting player. If he improved his outside shot drastically, then it's a possibility, but if not then I don't think so. He's not bad though, but I just can't see him in that position, and their really haven't been any talks of him having such a big role on the team, but he's been improving a lot since he was in Washington, and it's a possibility.
I personally think that a Wilcox/Brand frontcourt would be best for the Clippers. I think over time they could grow into one of the best 1-2 duos in the league, and with Maggette doing awesome, and Livingston looking good..the Clippers could be title contenders within the next 3 seasons.

If the team can get a young SG next year, and re-sign Simmons and somehow Kittles, the bench will be: Kittles, Kaman, Simmons, and Livingston, and when Livington get's good, Jaric will be on the bench and him starting. That's a pretty good lineup, if Wilcox was a better help defender it would be very feasible, but he isn't that good a help defender.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">and also he's only 6'10</div> I find that kind of funny, because like 15 years ago a 6'10 guy would be a center. There's not much problem with him playing center IMO because he has the athleticism to contest the shots of taller guys even if he isn't blocking them. Ben Wallace manages (so what if its in the eastern conference). I think that he could play center, but i agree with the fact that he'll never be the player he could be on the clippers, the best thing for wilcox's individual numbers would be to go to a different team.
He has played very well at the center position. He has put up 20 ppg., and 7.5 rebounds. Chris Kaman doesn;t put up those kinds of numbers, and he's 7'0 or 7'1. If I were the Clippers I would try and trade him for a good PG and a backup Center. How about a possible move to Boston. Boston is in need of a power forward, and they could get Marcus Banks and raef Lafrentz. Or what about to Golden State for Derek Fisher and Ansu Sesay. My last idea which would kind of be a block buster deal is: New Jersey trades: Jason Kidd Nenad Krstic Clippers trade: Chris Wilcox Quinton Ross
Well for his minutes Kaman rebounds and blocks better than Wilcox, but Wilcox has never been much of a rebounder, but his shot blocking has digressed from before. Kidd is too old, we have Livingston for the future, and getting Kidd for a 2 years or so is not worth the contract, and you're talking about Clippers management, why would they trade cheaper player for a more expensive player
I'm saying you're giving them too much credit, I'm the on insulting them, they never want to spend money, it's always a surprise when they do.
