He contians depth for the Mavericks, and is the offensive presence that the Mavericks have been looking for. Can he come up as big as he did in the Golden State game? Keys to the Game: Dallas Hustle to get 2nd chance points. Get the ball in the post to Dampier alot Contain Steve Francis Cut off any picks Feed the ball to Dirk and Finley alot Use the bench Orlando Use the fastbreak to get transistion points Dont get too comfottable with a lead. Feed the ball inside the post. Outrebound Dallas Use peremeter defense Dee's Predection: If Mavs can stop the transisiton of the Magic, and hustle to make 2nd chance points, they could pull this one off. Mavs undefeated, take this one by 4.
Great preview dee! Mavs need a good start to this game to win. I dont think they'll have enough energy to make a comeback tonight. Henderson and Stackhouse will be keys to this game.
VERY nice preview. I see the Mavericks winning this bigger than most people think, so i am going to say : Mavericks : 108 Magic : 99
Well needless to say the Magic outplayed the Mavericks and they actually did contain Dirk and Finley, limiting him to making his first basket late in the game. Good win by the Magic, up next the Heat.
Mavs didnt have a good start and it's never easy to comeback on the road on a back to back game after travelling over night. Hope they can forget about this game and concentrate on the big national TV game against Shaq and give them their first loss.
Yeh, the preview was right on target. The Magic outrebounded the Mavs, the Mavs got few offensive boards, and the Magic scored way to many transition buckets. The Mavs made a nice run with Bradley anchoring the zone. Dirk started to dominate, but on back to back games, Dirk had to rest, and when he went to the bench, there was no go-to guy. Finley hurt and Stack sucked. Marquis is definitely not 100%, he missed about six layups that last year he would have slammed. Ankle injuries are slow to heal, he'll be back, he's still better than most at 80%. Dunno whay you guys think, but it really didn't seem like the Mavs were pressured defensively that much. It seems the just missed easy shots. When the easy shots didn't fall, they started forcing passes inside that they normally would just drain. Many of these passes resulted in turnovers. Over-dribbling, Over-forcing, Under-shooting. Not a good shooting night at all.
