<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MINNEAPOLIS -- Ron Artest is being punished again, and Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle wouldn't say exactly why. Carlisle, who kept the volatile forward out of Tuesday's 102-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, said after the game that Artest would also sit out Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. "We had a situation develop yesterday I felt compromised the integrity of the team," Carlisle said. "It's a private team matter, and I'm going to leave it at that."</div> link According to the notes on my yahoo fantasy game, the timberwolves television broadcast claims Artest was talking about retirement. This personally made me laugh but I hope that this was not true.
Ron Artest is a clown. However I'm extremely curious as to how the Pacers could beat the Wolves when they are playing without JO, Reggie, and Artest.
Theres a lot of talks going around that Artest was talking retirement. I don't think he will retire though, he just needs to calm down. I wouldn't be suprised if Artest has Bi-Polar disease.
On ESPN Motion, they said the word is that Ron Artest is thinking about retirement...couldn't tell if it was a joke or not.
Artest will cool down.. he's too valuable to trade. DPOY and has lots of offensive tools. We'll give ya Eddie Jones for him if you wnana trade him so badly
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Wade:</div><div class="quote_post">We'll give ya Eddie Jones for him if you wnana trade him so badly </div> Indiana is one of the teams that has historically kept winning combos together. The Blazers, Spurs, and now Lakers (some others as well) all thought that it was a good idea to break up quality teams. For whatever reason. Trading Artest would be silly.
According to ESPN.com, Artest was benched because he wanted "time off to rest." Apparently, he has a rap album coming out later this month, was working very hard promoting it and just became ran down (I wish I was making that up). You would think that he would do that during the off-season.
They said he wanted time off to rest because of the album coming out nov. 23. He also said he was mentally and physically tired due to the creating of music. This is the craziest thing I have ever heard! Ron artest needs to be worrying about his attitude that his music. He is selfish and just looking to make money. He doesn't care about winning. He has a premadanna attitude where he thinks everyone should bow down before him and kiss his butt. He's a good player but he does some crazy and moronic things. I say congradulations to Rick Carlisle. I feel sorry to JO for having to put up with this. He was just infured by the way. Sprained left ankle. One of the Clippers slid underneath his foot while he was going for a rebound.
and now you know why I came out saying there was no way I would trade for Artest anymore. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> "I've been doing a little bit too much music, just needed the rest," Artest said. "I've still got my album coming out Nov. 23. After the album comes out I'm going to make sure all of my time is focused on winning a championship." </div> Its not often I have to agree with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, but this is one of them the guy is just not all there.
But did you see how he made sure to mention the release date? Now, that's just good marketing... The thing about Artest is that when you have someone with such a strong personality, you need someone with a stronger personality to check them. Just as an example: When was Rodman at his best? When he was in Detroit, with Isiah, and in Chicago, with Jordan. Rodman may still have been a bit out there, but those 2 were able to reel him back in when needed. I just don't think there is anyone on the Pacers who is capable of doing that to Artest. O'Neal doesn't have the resume and Miller is on his farewell tour.
I could not believe this. He asked for a month off. haha. Do that crap in the offseason. If it gets in the way of basketball, he should be fined or something. What a joke.
My favorite part of this is when he said he was physically and mentally drained and needed the rest. It's <u>5</u> games into the season. Imagine just how tired he'll be by the all-star break.
This story brings a smile to my face every time I hear it, seriously, who does this guy think he is? From what I understand his "rap" name is "Pak Man" and he has his own record label, TruWarier Records, and that's where all of his time and effort was placed during the offseason. Not Basketball, Not Working Out, No Pickup Games, No Film. Just some straight up gangster beats from the MC they call Pakman. I can see this one catching on faster than the ketchup song. Now Indiana needs to ship this loose cannon off immediately, look no further than the NFL and Ricky Williams to assure yourself this is bad news. You simply can't rely on an unstable player to get you to a championship, sure he's talented and perhaps the best defensive player in the league, but what happens when The Playoffs roll around and Mr.Artest (aka Pak MAN) is in the studio making beats with Lenny Krav. and Ricky Dolphin-Dub taking some bong rips? Yo, Novemeber 23rd DOGG!
Artest is a great player I'm just puzzeled on why he acts so immaturely sometimes. He said that he needed to take a month off to work on his rap album. After that he can focus on winning a championship. Artest is really a great player on this team although the Pacers can get quality for him not really someone who plays his style.
You have got to be F'n kidding me..... This is the craziest thing I've heard in ages. Tim Legher was saying on ESPN last night that this may be the craziest thing he has EVER heard from ANY athlete. And to think that Artest thought asking for A MONTH off was a reasonable request? WHAT???!!! Help me understand why that makes ANY sense? I am surprised that Carlisle did what he did. It would almost seem as though, by benching him for 2 games, that Artest almost got his wish, though it was not for the full month. If I were Carlisle, I would have suspended him with no pay. Either that or would have yelled at him for an hour then not give him a minute off. I'd make him run laps and carry all the team's bags for a month. I wonder if Bird will look seriously into trading him again. This guy has so much talent, but his is a nutjob and terrible for team chemistry. Look at the blowout loss to the Clippers. With Sacramento playing the way they are, look for the Peja for Artest rumors to start flying around again. FYI, here is the link to the article re: artest.
You're right Carlisle made him happy. Perhaps a sever fine or someting will really send a message to Artest. No wonder why this guy wasn't sent to Athens.
