During the offseason I praised Dalembert left and right, telling everyone I truely believed he would earn "Most Improved Player" honors. Just looking at his stats last season helped argue my case: 8 PPG :: 7.6 RPG :: 2.3 BPG in just 26 minutes per game. I'm still not understanding The 76ers approach when it comes to Dalembert's playing time. He's more than proved his effectiveness when he's on the floor, just looking at the numbers shows you he has the potential to lead the league in blocked shots granted starting minutes. So why does Philly insist on holding back Dalembert's production? Does anyone else feel last season's campaign in limited minutes has certainly earned him closer to 40 minutes per game?
You got me, I know this year JO said that Dalembert has more developing to do and that's why he is keeping guys like Skinner and Jackson in front of him. But I think that's BS because the guys obviously looked good last year in full rotation and I'm not sure why Billy King doesn't pass this info on to JO. If a guy needs developing, well then it's the beginning of the season so use him in the game now and see how it pans out.
Im a big sixers fan and I definetly think dalembert should get alot more playing time because he makes his presance known on the court
I don't...He looks clueless when he's on the court...He has no idea of what to do in Obrien's system....:e t him get a grip on the system first, then he'll get more PT anf will be mor effective....
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Arthur:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't...He looks clueless when he's on the court...He has no idea of what to do in Obrien's system....:e t him get a grip on the system first, then he'll get more PT anf will be mor effective....</div> How will he get the grip of the system though if he doesn't even get onto the court? I really don't like Jim O'Brien, winning isn't everything.
Trip, you're right. Well, you would be right if we were talking about kids in little league who don't get paid... In the NBA, I think winning most certainly is everything. Thats what these guys get paid to do: help the team win. If the team isn't winning, these guys aren't serving their purpose and therefore should not be getting the millions they get. As far as O'Brien's approach to Sammy... Its wrong. He shouldn't place Jackson and Skinner ahead of Dalembert. Sammy is younger, and is already more effective than both Skinner and Jackson. Besides, don't you earn the starting job? I think Sammy earned it last year. Jackson acted like an idiot last year and just did not play well, and Skinner didn't even play for the team. You put your best players starting on the court. Period.
Well some may be confused as of now, he isnt playing because of a right hamstring injury.Other then that he hasnt started yet, but has plays the majority of the time at C. I think when he is healthy he has a huge impact on our team, Marc Jackson seems to tire easily and thats win Sammy comes in and brings energy off the bench, you can tell we need him right now.
