<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">76ers general manager Billy King said on Tuesday that the team should have some sort of resolution regarding forward Glenn Robinson within the next few days. Robinson is currently on the injured list due to left ankle tendonitis, and the 76ers are trying to trade him. King told the Philadelphia Inquirer that there have not been any tempting trade offers as of yet. When asked if they would buy out Robinson's contract, King replied, "I'm not going to get into waiving him or not waiving him. We're going to cross that bridge when it comes."</div> <div align="center">Link</div> He's on his last year of the contract, so we must be able to get some good talent for him. Hopefully...
The Sixers never get anything decent in return on trades. Only good thing they got recently was Corliss for DC and Amal.
Nothing is going to swing our way because Glenn has a bad work ethic and attitude. And I swear if the 76ers don't at least make it to the 2nd round this year, I want Allen Iverson out the door.
My dad heard somewhere... not sure if it was on WIP or on Comcast but we're going to waive him and then pay him to leave the team. Or something... don't quote me.
I will quote you. "Barring a last-minute trade offer that is substantially better than anything 76ers president Billy King has already heard from another NBA team, the Sixers are likely to buy out the final year of Robinson's $12 million contract and waive him." Philly Burbs

I wanted Iverson out last year but I don't think anyone wants to give up one of their star players for him. Let's face it Iverson isn't going to be playing this way forever, throwing that 165 lbs. frame of his into the lane full of guys like Shaq, and Big Ben everynight. I don't think he can do it for much longer with out establishing a consistant jump shot. I know I am going to have people that are going to disagree with me but Iverson is almost 30 now and he is going to be wearing down. I think it would be best for the Sixers to trade Iverson. I think it would benefit Iverson also to be on a team where he can have a 2nd scoreing option, and have a chance to have an NBA Championship in the near furture. I say Billy King has to go out in the free agent market or work the phones to get a TRUE 2nd scoring option* for Iverson, I don't think he can carry this team any longer. *We had KVH, Harpring, Big Dog, Larry Hughes, even at one point Speedy Claxton but none seemed to work. I think we might have to get a big man for AI because when we had Theo we went to the finals, maybe that is the answer. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Need4Sheed:</div><div class="quote_post">"Barring a last-minute trade offer that is substantially better than anything 76ers president Billy King has already heard from another NBA team, the Sixers are likely to buy out the final year of Robinson's $12 million contract and waive him." Philly Burbs </div> Why don't we just hang onto him till we get a trade for him? Or just hold on to him till he is a free agent so that we don't have to buy him out? Is he really that much of a cancer in the locker room?
Yeah but after all these years with Allen in Philly, we haven't done shit and were never considered a powerhouse in this league. I look at him as a cancer to the city. The 76ers I wish would do something like the Magic are doing right know and start over with a whole new face.

Teams will do alot for caproom. The Hawks traded Rasheed Wallace for cap room. So the 76ers will probabaly get something good out of a team for Robinson.
Billy King is just so dumb that he's gonna waive him? He traded Snow for scrubs, why can't he do it with Robinson? We waive him and then he signs with Miami and gets a ring, easy as that! I would love to get Eddie Jones for Robinson, both are past their primes.
Well, I'll tell ya what. If we buy him out, the 76ers better get some big names in here next year. Just look a Minnesota for example, Sam, Spree, KG, and Wally then take Phoenix for example Amare, Nash, Q, Marion. What do we have? Allen and that's it. I hate how you see these other teams with crazy amounts of weapons and we have one aging weapon. Anyone think Pacers would wanna swap for Artest?
Both Iverson and Robinson need to be traded sometime. I mean, if we ever since we've changed the coach, the atmosphere of the team is different and the style is so much different from the old Larry Brown's kind of play that was even with us last year. Robinson can't run the run and gun style since he's pretty old and Iverson's wearing down. Think about it, how many more years can he handle? We have to work towards a whole new team and get ready for our young players i.e Green, Dalembert, Korver, Salmons. In the meantime, we should trade for players that can help them develop, that way, in a couple of years, the team should be a threat once again. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Anyone think Pacers would wanna swap for Artest?</div> No I think the Pacers like their current lineup, I mean, if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Indiana won't do that. Tinsley's developing well and they just acquired Stephen Jackson. Iverson won't fit in very well with Carlisle's style of play. If Artest was on Philadelphia I don't think they would do as well as if Iverson was there. Iverson is more of a leader than Artest.
Artest for Glenn? I don't think that would go down, not for Glenn Robinson..maybe in like a 3 way trade possibly.
need4sheed, all I gotta say is I don't agree with you one percent. So what if Iverson is aging, everyones aging... he has ATLEAST another 6 years left where he will pump out the same scores. I don't care what you say Allen Iverson is a great person to build your franchise around. Look at all the teams that have 2-3 good weapons and they can't even get past the first round. Iverson and Mutombo together got to the finals. Mutombo isn't even one of the best centers in the NBA ... he's not even in the top 10. Imagine Iverson with a better center and ONE more offensive weapon like a small forward. It would be a start of a dynasty... i think we should buy out robinson for now and next year start adding weapons. If we can get to the playoffs or get past the first round this year it would be a successful year.
You know... I really don't think we can get anything for Glenn Robinson because of his 'me first' attitude (which has been displayed recently), his bad work ethic, his overall lack of defense and effort, and his contract is hard to trade away. I'd say to waive him if no good options become available. As for the Iverson lovers... The team has been losing because of stupid turnovers (not due to steals, but bad passes and sloppy ball handling). Guess what... He's contributing to that. He is averaging 5 so far this season, which would be a career worst. We'll just have to see what happens tonite...
He's also giving out more assists. Yes he has made alot of turnovers this season but this offensive strategy is new for Iverson , he was a shooter and rarely a passer. He's still a shoot first pass second type of player but he makes the plays now. I give it a couple weeks before sixers start rolling.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Need4Sheed:</div><div class="quote_post">We are talking about Arttest for Glenn Robinson.</div> Horrible trade for Indiana. They will never except something like that. The young, defensive player of the year, all NBA third team for an injured old guy that has all his good years behind him? It'll never happen and if it does Larry Bird will have no job.
I think we should a least get a decent player for him, people these days act like Glenn Robinson is a zero. But truley the man could be valuble for a team that lacks shootre and scorers, maybe a struggling time like Memphis would trade James Posey for him,he is a solid player who can do a little of everything. As for all the AI haters, let it go the man is the franchise of this team and it'll likely stay that way for a while, you can tell he is working hard and is having a positive attitude.
