Much to the pleasure of the Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Lakers continued their struggles in the state of Tennessee. Pau Gasol scored 22 points and Shane Battier added 18 - both season highs - as the Grizzlies recorded their first win of the season with a 110-87 rout of the Lakers. http://www.nba.com/games/20041110/LALMEM/recap.html
The whole team did bad tonight, even KB 4-19, but is just one game and every game until Feb will be a learning experience. The game got out of hand in the first half with Odom getting 2 fouls in the first quarter and 1 foul in the second quarter, I think. Butler I don't think was feeling it tonight. Chucky was definitely not feeling it with 2 points. For now the Lakers Ws and Ls lay on the hands of how the rest of the team performs each night. Is work in progress. GOD JOB GRIZZ.
Kobe tried to do to much. I knew his shooting percentage would go down, but I didn't expect it to go this far down into the 30 % range. He's lucky he's such a good slasher and create's contact so well, or he wouldn't be averaging 20 points.
Well actually Kobe didnt try too much. He was forces by others to do so much. He knows that they are all watching and hoping that he fails. There was no real support from others.
I hate to say it but without Shaq the Lakers won't be able to survive. The grizzlies almost scored half of their points in the paint at 50. They need to try and get someone that can lock down the paint.
it almost seems like they call all the ticky tack fouls on the Lakers and hardly any against the opposing team or is it just me?
they were back2back road games. u have to consider the fatigue they were in. and the mental lapse of the previous 4rth qusrter with the hornets
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bdubb:</div><div class="quote_post">It was the second half of back to back road games, so I didn't expect the Lakers to be too sharp.</div> Regardless, they are professionals. In the playoffs nearly every team will play consecutive games on the road. So that's not really an excuse.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> they were back2back road games. u have to consider the fatigue they were in. and the mental lapse of the previous 4rth qusrter with the hornets </div> That's a ridiculuous excuse. It might factor in to some fatigue but basketball is about execution and these guys are professionals, they are trained and prepared to not be fatigued in back to backs. If the Raptors can beat the Jazz on thier home court in back-to-back road games, the Lakers shouldn't have struggled the way they did. However, Kobe might have struggled due to his injury but that's no excuse for the rest of the Lakers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dallasdude:</div><div class="quote_post">Why do you say every game until Feb? I don't mean until Feb but it will take some time for the team mesh together. I hope I clarified myself. Oh yeah back-to-backs should not be an excuse for a group of guys that are in their mid-20s.

Since when does Divac hold down the paint with defense? We had him and as great as he played then, he certainly didnt have much D :thumbsdow . LA has some "parts" in the paint but no stud.
