I'm not sure if the contracts match up, but what do you think?

Does it benefit us? and does it seem realistic? (ie, Would the Raps actually take the bait)

I'm gonna see what the Raps think in their forum. But what do my fellow Rocket's fans think?

ooh, Ty Lue? I like him off the bench tohugh. Is Palacio any good?

Btw, are you sure they wouldn't take the bait? I know Donyell has a good reputation but looking at his numbers this season, he hasn't done much for the Raps.

Yeah, I don't see why the Raptors would buy into this deal without a prospect or draft selection. Marshall would fit well into this system however, and he's coming off of a great season in Toronto. I'm sure The Raptors wouldn't be totally opposed to moving Marshall since Chris Bosh could easily fit any void Marshall would leave. However their probably searching for picks and prospects as it looks like their once again headed towards another rebuilding process.

Marshall is a better player, period. He provides more than Juwan, and with Bosh taking the minutes at the four currently, it would be a pointless trade for the Raptors. At least Donyell can double up and play some three, while I don't like Juwan's chances of being as productibe off the bench.

If the Raps trade Marshall, I'd say it would be for backcourt help, something the Rockets can't really provide to make any deal worthwhile.

I don't think we could trade Howard for Marshall. Marshall's trade value right now is at the height of his career and Howard will not be as productive as him, starting or coming off the bench. Marshall has the versatility to play all three frontcourt positions, and is a good defensive rebounder and three point shooter. Howard, meanwhile, is a one-dimensional offensive player. Although Marshall would be great for us as a perimeter PF and would help us on the boards, Howard will not be able to fetch him for us, and I doubt anyone on our roster outside of Yao and McGrady would.

Marshall really could be the a great player for the rockets, I think a deal including

    Taylor/Howard (One or the other)

1 Round Pick & Maybe a Conditional Second Rounder

Marshall would be a Perfect fit for the rockets, And the Picks really wont be that valuable to the Rockets.

That proposed deal would have us giving up too much. While Marshall had a great year last year and Howard is in his 30's, Marshall is also 32 by next year. So would giving up two prospects and a veteran for another veteran be worth it? We've squandered away quite a few first rounders already.

won't happen... Raptors don't need any more PF's - they already have Bosh, and they have a "superstar" that they want to trade.. I don't see why they'd give up Marshall since he's already bought into Mitchell's system. If they need anyone they can probably get them via the carter trade.

im standing by my belief that the Rockets dont need any more roster movement...yes the PG position could use help, but that will be solved once Sura is healthy...I like Mo taylor as a starter because his jump shot opens up things for Yao and T-Mac's slashing, while J-Howard is our instant post offense off the bench...Nachbar is looking like the player we always thought he'd be, playing solid defense and hitting open shots...I think once JJ finds his shooting rhythm and Lue/Ward understand where to get guys the ball, we'll be alright...

What do you guys think about a trade for Alonzo Mourning, and playing him at Power Forward?

He's still playing well, with some good amount of blocked shots, rebounds, and points. I think we could use his toughness.

I dunno, I think we need some time for him to prove himself after recovering from the kidney problem. Still, I think Taylor or Howard are more productive than Alonzo Mourning. Think about it, right now he isn't exactly playing for the greatest of teams so his stats may be a little biased. On some nights, Taylor and Howard have been putting up about 20 points while other not so great so I think we just need to work on the team chemistry and consistency before. For an example one night Yao gets 35 points, another he gets 6 points. So, just wait for the team to develop before thinking about making some rash trades.

Hav'nt made THAT many trade proposals. And I'm just getting some good discussions going. This is a forum is it not?

That being said, we're not doing as well as expected for two (maybe 3) reasons.
Most obvious reason is our team chemistry, that will naturally come.
2nd is our weakness at the PF position; and
A possible 3rd, is our PG rotation, but I honestly believe that with our current PG's we can win many games.

So the only issue really haunting us is the weakness at PF.
