<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nuggets on Wednesday discussed bringing the slumping second-year forward off the bench. Carmelo Anthony suggested coach Jeff Bzdelik would make the move and accepted the possibility. "I'm all right," Anthony said. "I'm not going to let it get me down. I'm still going to do my thing." Asked if he is considering sitting Anthony, Bzdelik said, "I haven't made up my mind." Anthony's agent, Calvin Andrews, said he read the potential move as a wake-up call to Anthony, who has shot 31.3 percent from the floor and averaged 3.8 turnovers over his first five games. </div> Wow, and I am suprised Melo isnt upset with this.I hope this doesnt ending up happening, yeah he is stuggling but the season is to young to make drastic moves like this, but hey they also have a long season left so they could expirement with the starting lineup. But I dont think this is the best move for the team, the Nuggets jsust arent meshing and they dont have chemisty yet, I believe things will come together eventually and the Nuggets will comeback form their slow start.
I think it's been a mix of bad shots, and the defenders he's had to face. Against the Lakers/Sonics, he had ok game's against Caron Butler/Kobe Bryant/Rashard Lewis but against Trenton Hassell and AK47, he was 0wned. With Tayshaun Prince coming to town tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a bad game scoring wise.
To take a line from Peetey Pablo. Bada boom bada bam ba bam. HAHA great game melo. We showed the Pistons whats up.
After the way Melo acted at the Olympics about playing time, I'm surprised he isn't more upset. Nugget fans, I have a question. Who would be the starter if Melo was benched? Also, if the bench Anthony, I bet the ticket sales decrease.
Melo owned Prince. 11-20, 34 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 1 block. Nice game, could be a turning point for him. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting MagicFan3:</div><div class="quote_post">After the way Melo acted at the Olympics about playing time, I'm surprised he isn't more upset. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post"> If Melo was benched, Rodney White would most likely be the one who would replace him.</div> Then I don't see the point in benching him because White can't do better than Melo is.
Melos performance yesterday was pas die, and really needed to quiet a few critics.Having a huge game like this against the defending champs is a good sign for the Nuggets and Carmelo.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MagicFan3:</div><div class="quote_post">Then I don't see the point in benching him because White can't do better than Melo is.</div> Nobody is saying White is better, the idea of bringing Melo off the bench would be to try to make him relax, and not force things. He's been under a lot of fire since the Olympics, and they don't want to put so much pressure on their franchise player who is only 20. Now, I'm sure talks about it will die down, because he played light's out against Detroit, but if he struggles again, don't be surprised if he comes off the bench.
Melo is just having a slow start. From Athens, to then marijuana thing, to people criticizing he is just learning how to deal with this at age 19.
Melo is certainly having a lot of thoughts... the smooth transition from college to NBA last year was, well, so smooth that he was really getting used to people and the world smiling, embracing him, and loving him. Then, of course came the Olympic experience and going through that (being a non-factor player on a team) for the first time while all along he had been the center attention of every team since probably high school, he was not quite sure how to handle it in a mature way. And then the incident at the bar and through a rumor political shout out that raised a few eyebrows, people are starting to turn away from him and this is really the first time he feels like people are trying to judge him not only as a basketball player but also as an individual person. He's still clueless as to how handle the latter. To the young fella, it's unfair because he may think that he is who he is and we fans and media shouldn't intervene in his private life. He is still young, but the thing about Melo is he is not a bad kid, sometimes it seems like he's being defiant with his attitude but the truth is he doesn't really understand what is going on and he is confused... he's entering the transitional age where a person is changing from kid to man and he's still learning. And, him not upset with the idea of the benching thing really showed that Melo has learning a thing or two from the Olympic experience. I remember him saying that he said almost immediately in an interview (no source, sorry) after the Olympic basketball that he wanted to sign up for the next Olympic team. This came after he admitted he showed some poor body language during the games where Brown benched or not played him at all. Melo is learning and the results are out and he is still going to make more mistakes but good thing he is willing to learn from them.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PupMelo:</div><div class="quote_post"> And, him not upset with the idea of the benching thing really showed that Melo has learning a thing or two from the Olympic experience.</div> Yeah i tottally agree i tihnk Melo is just making the transition from childhood from adulthood in front of the world and hes having a hard time doing it. Hes not a bad kid hes just going through a hard time. And i believe hes trying to work through his mistakes and learn from them and in the end it will all be for the better.
I think Melo, has realized he has messed up this off-season, and created a lot of negative buzz, causing him not to want create even more, thus he is calm. He alsohas realized he needs to accept what ever his role on this team is. I wouldn't be suprised if he takes a real quick trip to the bench; 3 or 4 games so. Then he comes back and is as good as ever.
Well i think 3-4 games is a bit excessive but i agree i wouldnt be surprised to see melo come off the bench for a game or two then came back better than ever
^ Yeah 3-4 games is a little bit exaggerated... if he did that, Jeff will think deep inside, "am I just plain crazy or am I just wanting to be fired?". Kiki wouldn't allow it and much like Laker owner Jerry Buss to Kobe during his first couple of seasons in LA, the Nugget owner (I forgot his name) will burn his a$$ for benching Melo, who the fans come to see.
At least wait untill Denver plays 10 games then we might have a problem but, he is just getting into the flow of things wait a little bit.

not making shots not recieving passes but its all good he will be back up on his feet in no time flatt ;-)
