Well if we're going on questionable calls and non-calls, then how about Ray's offensive foul that fouled him out? Minimal contact at best.

lol yea, but the foul on MoPete before that wasn't a foul either, the refs made 2 bad calls in that span, one for the Raps and one for the Sonics.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">Toronto will need to recover from the loss of powerhouse forward Pape Sow, and subsequently will be forced to rely on scrubs such as Chris Bosh and Donyell Marshall if they hope to inflict Seattle's first home defeat of the season.</div>
Actually, it's pretty hard to tell if you were joking or not because if you were sarcastic then I'd assume you think Pape Sow was just an insignificant scrub, when in fact, he could be quite the opposite. He's a young big man who has shown a lot of potential during summer league and pre-season. He could probably be even more useful than our own #8 draft pick, Rafael Araujo, when he comes off the IR. You should've used Jerome Moiso instead to prevent any confusion. Oh well, I didn't mean to make it seem like a big deal..... seeing that you called Bosh and Marshall scrubs, it's pretty obvious you were joking..... but I can understand the confusion.

btw, great game (not so great for the Raptors though). I actually like this new Sonics team. I don't know why Ray Allen still wants to leave when he has a good thing going in Seattle. The Ray/Shard duo is a killer. I would much rather see them in the finals then any other Western team. Good luck to you guys.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Shard:</div><div class="quote_post">Seems like you were the one PMSing, anytime someone refers to Chris Bosh and Donyell Marshall as scrubs is OBVIOUSLY being sarcastic.</div>

Actually the so called "joke" had stated that Donyell Marshall had to pick up the slack, when it was stated earlier that he would not be playing, making me, and others believe that he got the names mixed up.

Shard fouled him, and the refs didn't call it. I don't really get it...The refs called alot of ticky tack fouls in this game, and they couldn't call the most important one.

Refs don't call fouls that late in game when the player has more than good enough chance to hit the shot or in this case, lay-up. Just never happens. Wasn't like Rashard hit Vince hard and forced him to the ground.

If Vince had gone to the right side of the basket he wouldn't of been in the position he was in.

i know what your saying supersonic...but vince getting hacked on the last play of the game..an obvious foul. If they called it, the game woulda been the raptors. But if they didnt its the Sonics win. Its right there, direct...they cant be giving any curtisy or make up calls in that sort of scenerio. at least with ray fouling out...sure it was a bad call....but it didnt decide a winner right then and there. the raps should be 5-1

i dont buy that for a second. look at the positioning of lewis' arm drapped over vinces........theres no way vince can continue his shot. his arm can get passed...and momentum would be lost on the shot...which is why it was way off. he might as well knocked him to the ground.....either way there was a 1-100 chance of him making it

It wasn't an obvious foul. It's a 50/50 situation when a player drives to the hoop and gets a smack on the arm, sometimes they call it, sometimes they don't. If Vince was hit hard, he would have gone to ground or been visibly effected, and I don't think that was the case. As AllNet pointed out anyway, refs won't call a foul on the last play of the game unless it's really obvious, and it wasn't.

And anyway, as I brought up before, Ray's offensive foul that fouled him out was also pretty dubious. Mo-Pete flopped big time. The Raps lost that game with some ill-advised shots down the stretch, not a non-existant foul call.

A foul is a foul. Refs do call fouls in these situations. Take a look at the Magic-Bucks Game. Steve Francis got the 2 Points and a foul. The foul was a ticky tac foul, and it was called, as it should be. The same thing happened today. That foul should of been called becauase of the way the game was called. The Refs were calling ticky tac fouls all game, and on the most vital possesion of the game, it seemed like a different set of Refs were on the court, as they didn't call the foul on Shard. I would understand this non-call if the Refs were letting the players play and didn't call the small fouls like they did, like Mo's Flop, however that was not the case.

If a player goes hard to the basket and gets hit, he does try to continue the shot. Even if Vince was hit hard, that doesn't mean he has to goto the ground in order for it to be a foul. Any type of foul in that situation, which effects and changes his shot, should be called.

So, in summing up this thread, the Raptors didn't deserve to lose and Seattle were lucky the refs were on their side?

In a one point game, you can point to any number of incidents. A foul probably could have gone to Vince, but despite a lot of ticky-tack calls all game, that doesn't mean it's a foul because a few other questionable ones have been called. It really sounds like Toronto fans are looking for excuses somewhere other than their team first. Look at Jalen Rose's play, look at Vince's first half, and then that fadeaway three that airballed, look at how AD was able to get a runner off within 10 feet of the hoop in that situation. Don't just pick out one incident and come complaining - and it seems the fans are coming out now, after they've studied slow-mos and still shots.

Do the refs get the benefit of that? No, they call it as they see it and they did just that. It wasn't a blatant foul, it was a 50/50 call that fell the Sonics' way.

Twisting Words. Where did you come up with this idea that...At no point in this thread did the Rap fans indicate or implied that the Raps desereved not to lose.

I was telling both sides of the story, on how the refs were consistant with there calls throughout the game on the small fouls against both teams, and didn't call the last one, which they should've of called because their consistantwhistles on the small fouls.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In a one point game, you can point to any number of incidents. Nobody is discounting the play of Jalen Rose or the other calls. Rose played poorly, and Bosh didn't control the ball well (5 TO's). We did play bad, and the Sonics did play better than us, however, when it came down to it, despite our lackluster play, we we're able to somehow comeback in the game and had a good chance to win it. Sure, if Rose played better, if we made a few more free throws or whatever, we could of won the game, however, in the last possession, all that had to be put behind the Raps in order for them to pull out a win.

The "controversial" non-call at the end, is what got me steamed, because the refs being consistant with their ticky tac foul calls the whole game, didn't make the last one. I knew it was a foul the moment I saw it, but the refs seemingly "did not". If they were watching the play closely they could see it, they probably did, but they didn't call it. I would of been fine if they let the teams play the whole game without the small fouls and didn't call that...but, knowing that they did call all the small fouls, non fouls and all, in the game, the last play should of been called a foul. Other refs who call the game like they did, do make those calls if they ref the game like those refs did.

I'm not making excuses for the Raps poor play, I'm just stating my opinion on the way the game was called. The Raps did play bad for the most part of the game, but i'm just giving me 2 cents on the last play.

Well, maybe to a Raptors fan - to the neutral, I don't think it was that blatant. Maybe that's just the Sonic in me talking.

Banks, I apologise, it just sounds like you're singling out the one incident as to why the Raptors (wrongly) lost.
