The Heat have to release a player in order to add Anderson right?

They will probably get rid of Jerome Beasley.

Wekkm this could turn out to me a good or bad signing for the heat depending on how Anderson performs. If they have to waive a player to get him, I too think it will end up being Jerome Beasley but I was hoping to see him play a little this season. This will take away any chances of Dorell Wright seeing minutes.

Shows that our bench will only get better as time goes on, players will join the heat because we've become a title contender, we only get better...

This is a good signing for the Heat. Shandon Anderson wont give them much offensive kick. But I think they needed that other quality perimeter defender to go along with Eddie Jones. Now you can use both Ej & Anderson to cover some of the league's top wing players. So the Heat added depth from that standpoint. I think Anderson is a halfway decent player, just never worth the money he got in New York. And his jumpshot is extremely inconsistent.

Thats too bad because i like Dorell Wright. He could be to the heat what Ariza is to the knicks.

Not a major signing by the Heat. All they got was a decent defender who can't shoot if his life depended on it. I don't have the slightest idea on why the Heat were so interested in him in the first place.

We don't have anymore room on IR, so unfortunately yes. Beasley needs to stay, he is going to be a big part of the future of this franchise, if anyone is going to go, it's got to be Matt Freije.

Pretty much our entire bench is stacked with perimeter shooters, we needed a quality defender for late defensive replacements in place of guys like Rasual and whatnot.

Defense wins championships and the Heat going after a quality defensive stopper like Shandon Anderson shows that they're a contender and not an overhyped pretender like most people thought going into this season.

This is a good signing considering Anderson can provide us with a defensive presence on our bench besides Keyon Dooling. Hopefully he's just here to scare the rest of the SFs into becoming better defenders.

This is a nice pickup for te Heat. Like heatfan83 said he will provide us with a defensive presence coming off the bench and hopefully contain some of the better scorers on the perimeter.

id suggest that yall shouldnt hold such high hopes for shandon...hes a horrible shooter, a great slasher but he hardly drives, and i feel he's overrated as a defender after watching him for 3 years with the Rockets...

Damn it feels good to have a defensive presence in this team. Shandon Anderson played pretty well for the minutes he got getting 2pts on 1-2 shooting and 2 assists plus defense intangibles.

    Btw Freije got waived.

Thank God Jerome Beasly didnt get waived. He has a ton of potential, they need to give him some minutes though, same with Dorrell Wright. JErome will probably end up being traded though and ebcome a good player there. At least its what I think will happen.

As with Shandon Anderson I agree with most of you and say hes a great pick-up and a nice defender coming off the becnh giving us depth.

I think Beasley would be good too but I guess the Heat still consider him a defensive liability. One thing to look forward to is we decided to keep him so maybe he is improving [IMG]

Honestly I think signing Shandon Anderson is a step in the right direction as far as improving our bench goes. He gives a veteran defensive presence to guard Fs and SGs (which we have none). Perhaps people will not ridicule our bench as much as before [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
