What could they give us for Cuttino though? We're stacked everywhere but center. Do they have anyone on their roster that they would be willing to give up at that position? Maybe they could give us a first rounder though...that might be beneficial.
Like Barkely says (correctly), Denver has a lot of redundancy in their lineup, mainly the 4-spot. Camby, Nene, and Martin are all essentially the same kind of player. I think a Mobley for Nene trade could benefit both teams.
magic dont need it, if magic lose mobley they need SG. DeShawn isnt good enough to play the whole season as a starter. Here is the team and their backups and my rating PG Steve Francis -A+ Jameer Nelson C+ SG Cattino Mobley- A- DeShawn Stevenson C F Grant Hill - A Hedo Turkoglu B+ PF Dwight Howard - B+ Pat Garrity B C Kelvin Cato A Tony Battie B+ Deshawn is pretty good but hes not as great as some people he will be forced to guard (kobe, tmac, vince etc.)
Well Iam not 100% about this trade from an Orlando perspective it looks good on paper Nene for Mobley because it could end up working out for both teams. But a trade like that could end up back firing on the Magic as well. Nene plays the same position as Dwight Howard, so that could end up stunting the growth of Howard, just like last year when Jawuan Howard came in and threw off the play & growth of Drew Gooden. And now Gooden is gone. You also have to factor in Steve Francis has been attached to Cuttino Mobley's hip ever since he came into this league. He is like a big brother to Francis, so you dont really no how Francis will take a trade of Mobley from the Magic. And with the way Francis is playing I dont thing you want to do anything at this point to affect a change in his play. This trade could turn out to affect the Magic's two future players Francis & Howard in a negative way. It might only be a slight risk of either thing happening, but with the losses & mistakes this Magic franchise has had over the last several years(with their star players). Shaq going to LA. Grant Hill signing for big money then the injuries, T-Mac in houston etc. I dont think they can risk throwing off the flow of anymore of their franchise type players. They are best staying as is, keeping Francis and Nene as happy & on track as possible.
Nene could play center. I really like Nene, I think him and Howard would be a great frontcourt for the future. It would really hurt to lose Mobley though, but we get a lot more youth and have Cato and Battie as backups. We could have Turkoglu start at SG and Hill at SF. It would be a tough deal, but I wouldn't be disappointed with either way. If we did it I would be happy and looking more into the future and if we didn't, then I would stay happy with the way the team is playing and the Franchise/Mobley bond.
If Nene was that effective playing the 5, I dont think Denver would be looking to trade him. I guess the Magic could get away with him playing the 5 in the east especially since you can back him up with Cato. But I think for Nene to be truely effective he needs to be in a place where he can develope as a pwer forward not Center.
Isn't Denver playing him at the 4 and the 5 this year. I think he plays a lot with Kmart, and I know Kmart plays the 4. I could be wrong though, I haven't really followed the Nuggets that much this year.

Iam not for sure if they played much at the same time during the preseason. But I know they were battling real hard during preseason and training camp for that starting power forward job. And Kenyon Martin beat him out.
I really don't see Weisbrod doing this. He is a man of principles, and this would seemingly go against his master plan. (I could be wrong though)
Sure, it sounds tempting, but why break up the Mobley/Francis combo? Between those two and Kelvin Cato, you have YEARS of chemistry that you're just not going to get much anywhere else. They all know how to play off of each other and I can't see Weisbrod bringing in Nene for someone who makes much more impact on the team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jurassic:</div><div class="quote_post">As clumsy and forgetful as he can be, Mobley is worth more than just a first rounder, come on.</div> I meant in addition to another player. No way would a Denver first rounder, which is more than likely going to be a lower pick, is worth Mobley straight up. I should have been a tad more specific. I really don't like the idea of trading Mobley at all. The way the roster is right now, we have tremendous depth and we're really only missing one piece: a top-notch center. If we can fill that void through free agency or the draft next year, we should be on track to be a contender again in my mind.
explosive, i think we have a fine center in kelvin cato. In the Orlando Sentinel last week it had him as what the author thought the 5th best center in teh league right now. Battie is a great backup. We have a fine center spot. What we need most is backup SG. That is our weakness right now.

Now that we need him to start, well now is when you think about how good Bogans could've been, since he is really starting material.. I think Magic shouldn't be looking for trades, only guy I'd take from Denver is Camby but he is like our Steve Francis right now (Yes.. over Melo.) and I think our weakest position is backup SG right now. In the future, I wouldn't be surprise some trades go down bringing a SG and a Center.. Right now: C - Cato / Hunter and Kansun.. PF - Dwight/Battie SF - Hill/Hedo SG - Cat/Stevenson (Mobley is injured right now if I'm not mistaken.) PG - Franchise/Nelson I wouldn't mind having a better backup center, but we do need more strength at the SG position unless Hedo plays more SG, giving Augmon and Garrity more Minutes at SF.

Denver has no one interesting to offer. So Orlando won't give him up for nothing. Him and Francis make one of the best backcourts in the league (second behind Marbury and Crawford .) Destroying that will be crazy.

Good I like Mobley and would hate to lose him. The Magic have been playing great without him in the lineup and when he returns they will be even better. The Magic will be awesome and Mobley shouldn't be traded.
