Lebron and Ray Allen named players of the week.

Ray Allen??? yeah you can make an argument but Dirk took down the undefeated Giant single handed and has been averaging stupid numbers.

Neither the Cavs nor the Sonics are ranked #1 in the ESPN power rankings are they? Rankings

I dunno how to argue this although the Mavs are playin better than i expected...Dirk is a great player but Ray Allen does not deserve this award...if anyone in the West deserved it more than Dirk, it would have been Brad Miller or Carlos Boozer...but Ray Allen is just kinda random...Dirk is averagin 29.8 ppg and 9.6 rpg while Allen is averagin only 28.3 ppg...only 1.6 points off but be reasonable..

Well Im also a Ray Allen fan, but this is by far robbery. Man Dirk has led the Mavericks to the NBAs best record, well theres always baller of the week for Dirk so we can be happy with that one [IMG]

On another note, look at this man's stats, if he keeps this up he could be the MVP. Im telling you, this man is evoulving to a beast, im waiting for the bandwagoners to come. I think if they can stay away from injuries and stay playing Mavericks basketball, they have a chance to win it all.

Ray Allen has led a team to a 6-1 record who were expected to be one of the worse teams in the NBA. He deserved to get player of the weekm shooting the ball the way he has is outstanding. Dirk has played out of his mind but Dallas have put a great bunch of players around him. so Dallas having a great record is expected.

Saying all this, It's only player of the week..hardly an important award.

Shocked me as well. I was really expecting Dirk to get this week's honors. Ray Allen's team mates played a whole lot better for them to get to the good start. Dirk stepped it up big time and had much better individual performances than him. Player of the week awards come into factor in close MVP races. Dirk's certainly having an MVP season so far.

    So is Ray Allen.

Both could have gotten the award, both led their teams to undefeated records on the week. I guess Ray edged it because of the shooting numbers he's been putting up, either way I don't think it's really something to get offside about. They probably just tossed a coin.
