When was the last time any of these 4 cats carried their team on their back? well, carmelo did a couple of nights ago, but he's inconsistent...to everybody - give Ray Allen some love, give Baron Davis some love, give Steve Francis some love too...</div> omg buddy, if you actually read my post you would've seen this: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">These are the Best of the Best in the NBA, you can't get any higher than them. This thread has gotten ridiculous. First there are arguments about players being left out, and on top of it people have come up with silly categories. Superstar Super-Duper Star Partially Touchable Nearly Touchable Untouchable Cream of the Crop We all know who the top 5 players are. After that it's debatable. Just because your favorite player doesn't make the list doesn't mean anything. Just because he doesn't fal into one of the excessive categories that you kids have made up (yes, made up) is no reason to cry.
Danny Ainge got himself in a little bit of trouble when he spoke on this subject. He defined a superstar as someone who could be surrounded by any 4 players, and still be a winner. He said that he didn't put Paul Pierce in the class of superstar, and I agree. IMO, the only superstars in the league are Garnett, Duncan, and Shaq. Below them there are many stars like AI, McGrady, Kobe, Pierce, Lebron, and others. I wouldn't put them in the class of superstar yet but they all have the potential to be.

He really hasn't had any success, no matter who's on his team or not...and he even mentioned that he walked on the court every night for the Magic expecting to lose and didn't care anymore. That right there changed my mind about him. Otherwise, in no order whatsoever... Garnett Kobe Shaq Duncan That lists the 4 superstars in the league.
