Wonder what's going on.....VC for Rahim? Too bad Randolph won't be involved...

By the way....I've got a Rookie Autograph/Game worn Chris Bosh Alt. Jersey...how much is it worth?

I wouldn't take Rahim...just wondering who'd Portland want to give up?
Still can't believe Raps took Michael Bradley over Randolph!!!!

I might do it, as long as its Anderson instead of Van Exel, and we get a pick. Isn't Abdur-Rahim's contract expiring soon?

Getting Abdur-Rahim will somewhat destroy the development of Bosh. If they want to trade Carter so badly get more value. If Portland gets VC than expect a great season run in Portland while Toronto is struggling. Bad trade for Toronto.

I would take that deal in a heartbeat actually.

All three of those players are highly underrated, especially Anderson. Rahim would have to be moved to the SF position most likely because otherwise it will hinder Bosh's devlopment.

Why?? Do you realize how big and long DA's contract is? Abdur-Rahim and NVE both come off the books this year. Thats like 25+ Million off the books after this year. That allows us to persue FA's like Ray Allen, Michael Redd among others.

Bosh did say that he'd like to play the "3"...maybe Rahim may play the "4"...

The hold up on this trade is the raps want NVE for cap reasons but portland wants to give up anderson instead.

    the raps should clearly do the trade cause personally i think vince and jalen are envious of cb4's development, sort of like a nba mid life crisis cause their skills have acutely declined. bosh and reef don't cancel each other out has some have speculated, cause bosh faces the basket whereas reef is a back to the basket player. plus, remember mitchell is obsessed with the idea of playing bosh at the three and reef would be the raps first legit low post scorer ever. and more importantly this trade solves the raptor depth issues, check this out;

    starters bench

    rafer van exel
mo. pete palacio (play both together or insert roger mason at the two)
    reef l.murray
    cb4 donyell marshall
    woods moiso

our team suddenly is better defensively with mo in the starting lineup, is less jump shot dependant and more balanced 1-12. and btw, it gives us serious salary cap space this offseason to go after ray allen or some other legit max money player.

Yeea, my bad. I was under the impression that Van Exel had a long term deal. I'm sure that Shareef can play at the 3 a little, so he won't hinder Bosh.

This is a horrible, we get players that are redundant at their positions, NVE and Rafer, and Shareed and Bosh, and even with the cap space, the 3 premier players are Redd, Allen and Ilguaskas as a center. Redd will get a lot of deals, and the Raptors definately will not be his first option, Allen can get more with Seattle, and Z would be stupid to leave Cleveland and Lebron, so in the end what do we really get?

All those thinking SHareef will happily accept playing off the bench or playing the 3, you need to remember why he wanted out of Portland in the first place, and it's not like we'll be a better team that gives him a bigger chance of making the playoffs.

i respect your argument but vince has cost the raps big time on the road trip; u could argue all the losses could be directly attributed to his inept play. plus, vince and jalen are on the bench in the decisive fourth quarter so its not like we are giving up a lot. and after the portland game, how could u actually defend vince? and about redundancy, i agree to an extent but i think we can circumvent that by doing what dallas did in the crucial minutes by playing van exel at two. and u forgot about rashard lewis as another free agent. imagine signing redd and lewis, two twenty something stars?

i gotta agree with og15 on this one. i think that its a good deal on paper...its 3 very solid players...if we get NVE and anderson, then at least it gives us someone to replace what we lose. but they are just that...redundant positions. reef doesnt wanna play the 3 spot...and do we really want him playing the 3 anyways? we're already gettin torched on D...having him at the 3 isnt exactly gonna help us.

i think we're panicing and pushing the trade button too soon...more offers should come around. raps should try to make a move for magloire

I don't like this trade one bit. If Babcock goes through with this then I hope he'll be looking to trade SAR and NVE to another team that wants to free up cap space.

What also sucks is that we won't be playing Portland again this season, so if a trade were to go through, then we'd have to wait for next season to see "Vince Carter vs. The Raptors"
