@ San Antonio Spurs(6-1) vs Philadelphia 76ers(4-4) Place:Wachovia Center Time:7:00PM est TV:TNT
Probable Starters Guards: vs Allen Iverson-Tony Parker vs Willie Green-Bruce Bowen _______________________________ Fowards: vs Andre Iguodla-Manu Ginobili vs Kenny Thomas-Tim Duncan ________________________________ Centers: vs Marc Jackson-Rasho Nesterovic Philadelphia 76ers Keys to the Game The Sixers have gotten off to an "ok" start of theis young new NBA season. They will be playing the Spurs, who are usually an elite team in the NBA.We all know that Tim Duncan will most likely come to play every night, so there is no way stopping him, hopefuly we could at least contain him.Whats important for the Sixers to do is shut down the rest of the Spurs, the Spurs have a pretty solid supporting cast around Duncan, and shuting down players like Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker is very important.Working Parkr on the defensive end with Allen handling the ball should tire him some, hopefuly players like Andre Iguodala can hang with Manu on defense. The Sixers are not a team full of scorers, right now it seems Kyle Korver is the player who is stepping up offensivly for them.Getting Glenn Robinson back will likely help with the scoring load, and on the primeter. San Antonio Spurs Keys to the Game The Spurs are the better team on paper, so that gives them the favorite of this game.If the Spurs execute they should come out victoriousTony Parker is going to have to step up, he is going to need to score some, and guard Allen Iverson on the other end and it wont be easy.Manu is likely to have a good game, because the Sixers have trouble defending players of his caliber. With Tim Duncan inside the other Spurs should get some open looks from the perimeter and we know thats the Sixers biggest weakness on defense, knowing the Spurs they will hit these shots with no problem. Key PLayers Even though both of these teams will need a lot of production from the supporting cast this game, you have to look at these two guys as the key players.both teams sucess will likely revolve on how Allen and Tim play, I expect Duncan to play very well in the paint because Marc Jackson and Kenny Thomas are not the best interior defenders. As for Allen he is going to have to pentrate and try to draw fouls and open shots for team mates on the perimeter. My Prediction:Sixers with an upset 101-96
I'm predicting a 80-100 Spurs victory. They have no answers for Duncan and Ginobili has been playing well as of late. Iverson and everyone else needs to play exceptionally well if they even wan't a ghost of a chance of winning.
yea, unfortunately i have to be a realist. the spurs just have more talent on their team than the sixers do.
ya i see a 10+ win for the spurs, the Sixers, meaning Iverson AND the rest of the team have to have good games. last game I blieve Korver was the only other one to score in double figures.
Good preview, except its a little biased. Sixers should use this as a way of making their players step up, and guard Parker and Ginobli as best as they can. Tim Duncan simply must be guarded as tightly as possible but not too much as to foul him and get into foul trouble. I see a Spurs win with 102-91
This team has always gave us problems I wouldn't be surprise if the 76ers beat us. but i have to still pick the spurs 93-92
spurs is quite a strong team, but I think if 76ers can stop some powerful offence by the spurs. They can probably win this game. 100-94 76ers victory
Perhaps an act from god will help the Sixers and they win but not likely to happen. This game will be won by Spurs with at least 10.

Quoting That NBA Girl:

I expect the Spurs to blow us out, alas Erin wastes more money for game tickets again.
Why did you buy the tickets then? Sixers can't win every game you go at,atleast you're there and support them...
actually we HAVE split the season series the past few years with the spurs and swept them last year. Maybe we do have a chance of beating them if we play of best
Uh, I bought tickets because a) I like the Sixers and I like the Spurs and c) I didn't expect the Sixers to be playing as awful as they are now. From what we all heard over the summer, this team was suppose to be better than the one that went to the finals. Obviously not so far. And I bought these in September. I didn't just up and buy them like yesterday or something.

Save your money. No need to complain about wasting cash.
lol but you don't get it... my mom and I = big Spurs fans. I'm not going to go and buy tickets to games like Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, etc. How is that exciting? Saw the Sixers/Spurs last year and I believe the Sixers actually beat them, . I'm hopin for the same tonight.
could happen, the guy in ur sig is gonna have to light it up from downtown...say like 5-10 from 3. I wonder what the spread is for this game?
I bealieve we can beat the Spurs, we beat them last year IN San Antonio, but AI might not play with ankle tendinitis.Hopefuly he will play, but if not dont count out the Sixers with out him.Last year they beat the TimberWolves without AI or Glenn Rob.

I remember that Coleman had a good game. I always hope Sixers win so 98-87 win for the Sixers.
This would be an amazing game for the Sixers to win, get confidence that they can beat the big teams. But I don't think we have an answer for Timmy Duncan who might flat out explode in this game. I am looking forward to seeing Iguodala vs. Manu, both players are extremly athledic. Sixers are going to have to step it up to win this one. Spurs - 94 Sixers - 92 :thumbsdow We lose in a close one...
I am suprised that this game was as close as it was. I was for shure that this was going to be a blowout. The one thing that I noticed was that Tony Parker went scoreless in this game. Still timmy got 36 and manu, barry and bowen had an good game. Spurs #1
