Man oh man, i hope they can make a deal to get Troy back, I am sure they will. He is such a great team player. He has done so much for New England. IF you want a first down throw it to Troy Brown. well if he doesn't come back to the pats, i wish him well.

This just shows that there is no loyalty in football. This guy did it all for the team, he sacrificed insentives to play defense and what do they do, cut him. I dont think he should go back to the Pats.

There have been a couple of guys that had been cut then resigned with the pats. I remember Tedy Johnson did it. so you never know what will happen. it's all about the cap numbers and think that Brown will resign, but we shall see right...

Troy Brown would have counted 5 mil against the cap this season and he said he doesn't want to play defense at all next season or ever again...he is not better than Givens or Branch and is 33-34 years old....The patriots respect and appreciate everything he has done for us and he knows that but the reason we have been great is we don't get attached to players for what they did... so bye for now troy...wouldn't mind it if you came back at a reduced salary but he has already shown our young receivers what it takes to succeed in the NFL and he has shown everyone how to be a professional.

So it doesn't come down to loyalty but what can a guy do for his team...and sorry 5 mil for a avg at best punt returner and back up receiver just isn't scceptable. Should Hugh Douglas and Trotter not have gone back to philly cus they didn't pay them?

Ya...rodney harrison....LOL Troy brown is no big deal and ty law well...we won without him and he want a HUGE contract so IMO no big deal either....I more worried about losing Patten than losing Troy Brown.

what do you guys think about the new corner New England got? I really only know what i read about him, it should be interesting to see how he works out. I was reading something saying that brown might be resigned? that would be a good thing especially after the loss of patten. want a first down throw it to troy brown....

Patten is a bigger loss than Brown.

E4L ~ I'm sure you'd like to find a crack in our system, but it's futile. There are none. This organization is just too well run. You & the rest of the league is gonna have to come to grips with that. Troy Brown wouldn't be on the team last year if he hadn't made the move to CB. He's free to look for a better deal else where. Yes that is today's NFL. However, the Pats refuse to over pay for a player who's value has clearly diminished. Branch is the new go to guy for Brady.

As for Law. He left on good terms so there's no hard feelings. He spoke highly of BB after being released. The CB is the hardest in football IMO. It demands young fresh legs. That's why BB has made it a point to draft one or two each off season. I believe the Pats are in the FA market for a MLB. Most recent rumor was Kendrell Bell. However if the price tag is too high I'm sure they'll look in another direction.

I am not looking for a crack, NE is a very good team and I have always said that.

Troy Brown has been on the Pats forever, wasnt he on the supew bowl team when they lost to the Packers??? I dont that was a swipe at the Pats as much as a swipe on the NFL in general. I love free agency and no guarantee contracts, but I also hate how player like Troy Brown gets screwed just cause he does not want a paycut.

That's what makes the NFL great. The players can't dictact where they go, like they can in the other pro sports.

BTW Troy was released b4 several years ago & ended up coming back so we'll see.

E4L, read the post I put in the rants forum. Your comments above are pretty much the jist of the article.
