My random thoughts on this fight - What was Ron Artest doing fouling Ben Wallace that hard when they were up like 14 with like 40 second left? Ben Wallace's push was a natural reaction, but Ron Artest's going into the stands was abnormal agressive behavior. Can you imagine being a kid in the stands at a Pistons game and seeing a 6-8 beast coming charging in your direction and knocking out random fans? Do you know how much floor tickets cost at a Pistons game? At that price, I'd be pissed as hell if Jermaine O'Neal punched me in the face. I'd try to get him thrown out of the NBA Kermit Washington style. Did anyone see that huge black dude take down Jones? Where were all the tough fans? Coming from Detroit, I know that a lot of people in Detroit are tough, tough people that don't take much crap. Where were these people? Artest should pick on people his own size. The people he was fiting looked weak and powerless. 2c

That whole incident was just disgusting. Fans may be afraid to go to NBA games now because of this. I hope the NBA takes a tough stance against this, because it isn't going to do them any favours. This is a truly black day for the NBA, which is a shame because of the good things that happened in games like Utah vs. Miami. The NBA is going to be sued for this, fans dont expect to be assaulted when they go to watch a game of NBA Basketball. I hope the fan responisble for throwing beer at Artest gets banned for life from being at a NBA game, that one cowardly act will really hurt the NBA's popularity and image.

What was Ron Artest doing fouling Ben Wallace that hard when they were up like 14 with like 40 second left? i'm pretty sure it was because ben had just blocked artests shot and artest wanted revenge to a sort.
What a disgrace! Although Wallace did overreact you can't blame him for this. The initial brawl seemed pretty routine. They happen. But once the fan threw the beer it started going crazy. I think nearly all of us would have done the same thing as Artest. (if not you are indcredibly incredibly cool headed) Those fans were disgraceful to basketball by coming on to the court attacking the Pacers for no reason except to be beating up their team's opponents. What did the fans expect? A reward for it? Or did they just want to get killed? One thing I noticed from this fight was the kind of turn-around R. Wallace has made coming from the thug he was on the Blazers to the peacemaker on the Pistons. This makes me mad at people in general. They can be real idiots and jerks.
I believe that Ron Artest did the same thing a majority of the peple would do.If someone throws a beer at you when your trying to keep a fight from happening, your not just going to take it.The fan who did it is to blame, they started a rucus that lead to peple getting hurt, while Artest imo was just self defending himself.
1.it all started with ron artest kicking ben wallace in the nuts witn 40seconds to go while they were winning by 15... 2.ron artest is a *****, and none of this would of happened if he could have taken a beer cup to the face, athletes HAVE to deal with this, its the only choice they have. 3. jackson should be suspended for hte remainder of the season, he was looking for a fight the whole time. 4. ben wallace should be suspended for 2 games for pushing ron artests face. 5. the guy ron artest attacked in the stands wasnt the guy that threw beer at him.. justify him now..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Stockton:</div><div class="quote_post">The NBA is going to be sued for this, fans dont expect to be assaulted when they go to watch a game of NBA Basketball. </div> On the back of most tickets it says something to the effect of "The NBA and this arena are not responsible for any injuries suffered from objects entering the stands." Now, I'm sure they mean guys diving after loose balls or errants passes, but I bet they try and slither out from paying anyone. Jim Gray just reported from an empty Auburn Hills and his voice is STILL shaking out of fear.
Everybody's fault in this. Blame Ben for overreacting. Blame Artest for acting like a smartass just sittin on the table like dat. Blame the fans for starting this whole riot

I'm not saying it's good to fight but sometimes it just doesn't make sense not to.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NikeAir8:</div><div class="quote_post">so i guess everyone at the palace was drunk huh </div> ummm let me see the video first  did he punch anyone in sight? Well, those bogans were circling him, clawing, grabbing, and punching him, I would punch anyone in my sight too in self-defense... I believe alcohol plays a role in this fight... Anyway, ESPN releases a poll on this fight... what are your opinions HERE IT IS: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...g?event_id=1010 Just post your thoughts, and see the interesting results
Ben should never of pushed Ron but what Artest did was totally uncalled for. What the fans did was bad but you don't go and attack the fans.
Good luck on the Pacers finding a team willing to trade for RA. I think they're pretty much stuck with him now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting StayingOccupied:</div><div class="quote_post">3. jackson should be suspended for hte remainder of the season, he was looking for a fight the whole time.</div> I don't think he was looking for a fight. He was simply taking up for his fellow teamates, and he did a good job of doing that. He won't get suspended all year, but it will likely be a 5-15 game suspension. Same for Artest and O'Neal...
