Earlier tonight, Stephen A. Smith (so again, its all about who you believe) was saying that Reef has some hesitation about going back to Canada after what happened in Vancouver so they were looking to get a third team involved, possibly Memphis with Mike Miller and Bonzi Wells. So Reef would go back to the Grizzlies organization instead of to the Raps.
Do you think Raptors fans would prefer a trade like that?

Wow. I never caught that. Do you have an online source or anything?

That would be interesting, really. It seems 'strange' that Reef would be worried about going back to Canada. What is it with NBA 'stars' today? Why can't they do business like men and not whining kids?

no, Stephen A just sort of mentioned it in passing, early in the pre-game show before Pacers/Pistons. Obviously, the VC trade got pushed to the back burner after the brawl, so I didn't hear him mention it again.
I don't think Reef is worried about going to Canada for a safety issue or anything, I think it has to do with taxes and the exchange rate... in other words, its STRICTLY a business decision.

I dont like either of the two trades but if I had to choose it would be the Memphis deal I'd go for. Mike Miller hasnt reached his potential yet and Bonzi Well is a great player either one of those guys is great but for Vince we should get more like Dahntay Jones as well. If the Memphis deal went down I'd rather have Mo Pete starting than Mike Miller.

I've also read an article that said Philly may be intrested.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Vince Carter-wise buzz, after all, was coming from more directions yesterday. There was word out of Philadelphia that Memphis had called Toronto offering Bonzi Wells and Mike Miller. There was talk that Philadelphia had called Toronto offering something else.</div><font size="1">-benmaller.com</font>

I dont know how true this is, who do you think Toronto would want? Maybe Glenn Robinson and Kenny Thomas.

If it were up to me I'd take Iggy if we could or Samuel Delmbert and Maybe Big Dog. This is getting to be really interesting. I wonder who were going to end up with?

I doubt the Raptors would get Iggy or Dalembert, if the Sixers want VC, Glenn Robinson is auotmaitcly in the trade basicaly, because he is already on the the block,it could be him and another player ,who knows.

Maybe the Knicks can get in on it and try to get Abdur-Rahim. I'll be willing to give up some of our players like Kurt, Allan, Tim. I still don't know about Sweetney though. He might have to if we get Abdur-Rahim.

    quote from the toronto sun
"The Raptors were swamped by multiple phone calls from rival teams in the wake of a strong Carter trade rumour that surfaced on Thursday.

That rumour had Carter headed to the Portland Trail Blazers, essentially for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Other names in the various versions of the proposed deal were Jalen Rose, Milt Palacio and Jerome Moiso of the Raptors, as well as Nick Van Exel, Derek Anderson and Vladimir Stepania of the Blazers.

As of last night, the Raptors had begun to think that maybe they can do better. But Carter, who scored a team-high 21 points, expressed ignorance of where he stands trade-wise"

"One team that kept popping up in conversations yesterday was the Miami Heat, which might be looking to trade veteran Eddie Jones. And almost on cue, there were a few whispers about Ray Allen of the Sonics, too.

There were some suggestions the Detroit Pistons might have some interest in Carter, but apparently the fascination with Carter stops at the level of head coach Larry Brown and does not extend to GM Joe Dumars. However, you have to figure struggling teams such as the New Orleans Hornets and the Chicago Bulls, and even the New York Knicks, might want a shot at adding Carter, too. "

well the hornets are obviouse its maglore and someone else the knicks tim thomas and who else theheat it says eddie jones but who the hell would bulls give

You think the Raptors would accept Glenn Robinson? They have a trade for Shareef which is not that great, but Glenn Robinson is even worse.

Actually, I would rather have Shareef and Derek Anderson instead of Bonzi and Miller. Simply because I think Derek Anderson is on the same level as Bonzi Wells, if not just a little less, and Shareef could have a big impact even when playing SF.

Both trades make us deeper, and I like both of them, but that $26 million in the offseason sounds very appealing.
