Yo, we wont get Ray allen for Vince cuz the sonics are doing so well right now(scary to say), but the Hornets are 0-8 and they have a player named Baron Davis that wants even more out than vince, Rob should just do a star swap... [IMG]

i think the hornets are the team to make a trade with, but im not sure baron is the guy to get in the deal...

i say, vince, donyell and moiso for magloire, mashburn (for salary reasons) and a first rounder.

or maybe vince, jalen & donyell for magloire, baron and mashburn

We can keep these in the other threads talking about possible trades, just add on to them...

ya know what...we dont even need baron. he's injury prone and rafer is doing a great job at the point for us.

yup^ but baron would b a huge upgrade over rafer, and rafer can play the 2 our team would be stocked, and championship sontenders right away

    C-Magloire/Woods/Araujo
    PF- CB4/Bonner/Sow
    SF-Mashburn (if healthy)/MoPete/Lamond Murray
    SG-Skip/Alvin/Mopete
    PG-Baron Davis/Skip/Alvin/Palacio/Mason

but i doubt NO would do this...

i dont know about rafer playing the 2...he's more of a point guard. i like the ball in his hands...if either of the two were to play the off guard position, id rather see baron at the 2 spot, but even still...i dont want a trade that ends up in anyone playing out of position.

and i dont see why NO wont do it...if they keep losing, its not going to be long before the push the panic button...attendance is an issue down there too...someone like vince could be very appealing to them.

not to mention the fact that mag is admittedly not happy there. if he's not happy, and the hornets are losing...a trade isnt out of the question.

if we could do vince, donyell and moiso for magloire, mashburn and a 1st rounder our line up would look more like this:

    pg - rafer / palacio
sg - mo pete / mason jr
    sf - jalen / lammond
    pf - bosh / bonner
    c - magloire / arujo

(no mashburn or alvin...they are most likely both done for the season)

i like the looks of that front court [IMG]

My sentiments exactly. As much a great player Baron is, we don't need another point guard when Rafer's crossing up and dishing out everyone he's faced with. Some may argue that Baron can play the 2-guard but he's undersized and like I mentioned in another post about trading Carter for Ben Gordon and someone else, we are not that big of a team so the last thing we need is swapping tall for short. I bet Rob Babcock is receiving phone calls from all over the league as we are speaking now and I believe he will make the right choice if a trade is going to happen. If Carter or Carter and Rose are both traded, our line up will look like this:

    C: Loren Woods/Jerome Moiso
PF: Chris Bosh/Matt Bonner/Donyell Marshall (when he's back)
SF: Fill in the blank/Lamond Murray
SG: Morris Peterson/Roger Mason Jr./Fill in the blank
    PG: Rafer Alston/Milt Palacio

    Reserves: C Rafael Araujo
    PF Pape Sow
    PG Alvin Williams

Here are some of the proposed trades:

Note that these are largely based on salary situations and may or may not necessarily represent the participating teams' interests.

Base-Year contract. It means that if he were to get traded, his actual value in salary would be divided in half. For example, if he were to make $12 million, his salary would only take up $6 million in trade situations, so it makes it hard to do a trade straight up.

    ahh...thanks for clearing that up.

that makes getting big cat harder, but if we want him, and the hornets want vince, we can make it happen...im sure there is a way

Props to you Trip for clearing that up. As much as Jamaal Magloire trade looks attractive, I just don't see how it's going to work out both salary wise and role wise.. I like how Loren Woods is playing at centre and I like how Rafer is playing the point guard. To sacrifice a player's position for another player, it just wouldn't work in my opinion. Baron just adds another long-range shooter we have plenty of and he's a selfish player when it comes to jacking up shots, which will affect Chris Bosh's game. I also don't see why the Hornets will give up Magloire and Davis for two guard/forwards, especially when they are in the west where size is everything.

size isnt such a big deal in the west with shaq gone now. all the hornets need is someone to guard all the power forwards of the west, and PJ brown is already the guy who does that.

loren woods' game is good, but its not all-star calibre...his play would be nice off the bench...magloire could put up huge numbers for us. Loren is a role player and could still do that job off the bench.

as for baron, i dont really want him on the team...i just want magloire. he's disgruntled in NO, and they are desperate to unload mashburns contract since he's not playing. im sure its a possible deal...whether its a couple scrub throw in's or some cash...if the teams want it to go down, they can find a way to make it happen

Even with Shaq gone, size is what distinguishes the west from the east. The average height of the big men in the west is 7' 1/4" whereas in the east it's at 6' 9 1/2". Remember they still do have the likes of Yao Ming, Dikembe Mutumbo, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, Vlade Divac, Chris Webber, Brad Miller, Pau Gasol, Theo Ratliff, Zach Randolph, Dirk Nowitzki and Erick Dampier. Who are the Hornets going to play at centre if they give up Magloire? Chris Anderson? Sure we will take Magloire and as a scrap, Mashburn's contract since it runs out this season but I just don't see why Hornets will give up Magloire when they aren't getting back a centre of his calibre, or even less. But then again, I respect your opinion and anything can happen in the league.

PJ will play center...he's the one who guards duncan, stoudamire, cwebb, zach randolph...etc. granted magloire is usually the one who would guard vlade, brad miller and yao...but they havnt won a game yet...something has to change.

PJ is 6'11 but so is magloire and he's only 20 lbs heavier. pj's been guarding the leagues best power forwards for years now...donyell is a pretty underrated defender himself.

I remember back before i suggested a Q Rich/Maggette for VC and everybody hated it... nobody thought it would be any good... WTF! Look at Maggette now... and Q Rich is thriving in Phoenix... , and that Allen for VC ... every1 bashed it, Allen is crazy now .. But look here, you guys got Vince, the "Franchise" player...

Yes and the NO trade would be good.... and plus Baron Davis doesn't have to play Point... he can play SG... and he plays like one too , he only jacks up shots cuz he doesn't want to play in NO and nobody else is shooting the ball
