Doing that makes it seem like everything he did was ok. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">YES, i think everyone should do it... he's got my respect and deserves to be there.</div> How the heck do you respect someone who attacked another fan? The fan he attacked wasn't even the person that threw the beer. And the fan that did throw it was probably drunk. His life wasn't in danger so for you guys to say a plastic cup endangered him is just ridiculous. What he did was wrong, and most NBA fans should lose respect for him as a person. As a player on the court he might be decent, but he has too many negatives that outweigh any sort of respect. This is the same guy that wanted to take time off for his CD, applied for Circuit City so he could get a 15% discount, and constantly gets/got suspended from the Pacers. He's not right in the head. To respect someone like him just shows the state of todays NBA fans.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ice:</div><div class="quote_post"> Doing that makes it seem like everything he did was ok.</div> It was Ben shoud be out the rest of they year not him.
yea,no joke. The fans may have instigated an altercation but Artest escelated it to physical violence (even went after the wrong guy to boot). He got what he deserved, suspended for the rest of the year. On a different note, those of you who support him and what he did,I really have to question your moral standpoints. It makes me wonder if it speaks for this generation in general or just a few of you misguided individuals. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheNextJordan8:</div><div class="quote_post">It was Ben shoud be out the rest of they year not him.</div> care to explain why? Did Ben Wallace go into the stands and attack fans? Did he lose control and go after anyone and everyone? Please explain your reasoning.
Ben Wallace wasn't attacked by the fans. He started the whole thing with his preposterous reaction and if you compare his punishment to Ron Artest's, it's simply ridiculous. It's clear that David Stern seized the opportunity to get rid of Artest. I will certainly vote for Ron to go to the All Star Game. He saw his career year (25 ppg so far!) disappear because of Ben Wallace, the Pistons fans and David Stern. Simply ridiculous.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Need4Sheed:</div><div class="quote_post">I'll do it too, it'll be funning as isshh</div> Huh? What in the hell are you talking about?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Zee:</div><div class="quote_post">Ben Wallace wasn't attacked by the fans. </div> To me attacked means physically hit from another fan. If a fan threw a chair at him, or sucker punched him, then I might understand if he went into the crowd. But they didn't. They threw a plastic cup at him. It wasn't even a glass cup.. PLASTIC. Was he in danger? No. He should have been a professional and let security deal with the fans. What he did esclated the entire situation, and because of what he did he started everything. The fans provoked him, but if he just walked away he'd be playing the rest of this season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He started the whole thing with his preposterous reaction and if you compare his punishment to Ron Artest's, it's simply ridiculous. His team was up and the game was already in favor of the Pacers. Wallace was just upset Artest fouled him hard and he has good reason to be upset. His reaction may not have been appropriate, but thats a different story. Wallace may have helped start the situation, but keep in mind Artest was laying on the scorers table with a smirk on his face. A real professional would have walked away from it all. Will I vote for him? No. Why should I?
Guys, Artest is a good player, but he doesn't deserve to go to the All-Star game. An all-star is someone that has been a big part of their team, and has been a leader. There will be much more players that deserve to go there more than Artest. Plus, Artest won't even be playing for the rest of the season, so why the hell should he get to go the All-Star game...
too me this seems like a no brainer, artest should not be in the game. basically what you people are saying is that you dont think hes wrong for hitting the hell out of 5'8 fans. you trying gettin hit by a 6'7 240 pounder and right after that gettin hit by a 6'11 230 pounder. Ben pushed artest because artests foul was unnessacary. the game was out of reach n artest gave him a border line flagrant foul. i woul dbe pissed too. especially for the fact that it was known bad ass ron artest. ands then to have artest lie down and smile on the pistons announce table and take a headset and start talkin sh*t. the fan throw beer or water on you. so what? u scared to take a shower. thas the kinda thing u have to jus point to the scoreboard or laugh at the fan or jus walk away. my guy attacked the fans. NOT EVEN THE GUY THAT THREW IT. i REFUSE to vote for a player who attacks smaller innocent fans. Ben did not start this. the fan that threw the drink started this. pushing and shoving goes on all the time in the nba. i remember wen Garnett slapped duncan in the back of the head....no fan did anything, and everyone forgot about it. ben pushed artest, if the fan did nuthin none of this wuld have happened. this is not bens fault. he shuld not even be suspended.Ron on the other hand, is BEATING FANS WITH THE HELP OF O'NEAL AND JACKSON. the friggen 6'7 and above club. if artest wasnt a little pansy, gettin his jersey wet, none of this would have happened. so just chill,he aint playin in the all star game, he got what he deserved. and if your gonna start insultin me, go ahead, but my lil brother was at da game, if he wulda got hit..................anywayz at least now he can focus on his album,LMMMMMMAAAAAAOOOOO
