<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dwyane Wade scored 25 points and the Miami Heat remained unbeaten against Eastern Conference opponents by beating the short-handed Philadelphia 76ers 93-83 Sunday night.

Shaquille O'Neal had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Heat, who are 8-0 against the East and 0-3 against the Western Conference.

The 76ers played without Allen Iverson, who skipped the trip to nurse a bruised elbow. Glenn Robinson and Aaron McKie are on the injured list.

Wade had 17 points in the first half without missing a shot. He finished 7-for-13, capping his performance with an acrobatic reverse layup that brought a roar from the crowd, and shot 11-for-13 at the free-throw line.

O'Neal took only seven shots, hitting six, but drew enough attention to open up the perimeter for his teammates. Damon Jones tied a career high with five 3-pointers, including four the final period, and matched a season high with 17 points.</div>

If you take a look at the box-score Willie Green lackadaisical offensive game was obviously what hurt us, as well as Shaq actually making his FT's. However, Willie Green PG game was on point tonight. He had 10 dimes and 0 turnovers, so that's good. But other than that, I wasn?t overly pleased with the 76ers performance. Iguodala and Korver especially should have taken more shots.

    Next up, Boston Celtics.

I really wish Iverson was available for this game...because Green would've more than likely been pulled early, and Iverson/Korver would've been nice to have on the court together.

The Sixers were keeping up with the Heat the whole game, that is until the final quarter where Damon Jones started knocking down those big 3 PT shots. The Heat completely took over by then. THe Sixers did surprise me as Marc Jackson did a great job on Shaq. Marc Jackson didnt allow Shaq to take over in this game. THe thing MArc Jackson seeemed to do was close the passing lanes from Shaq forcing them to lob it to Shaq if a pass was able and then MArc foulded him. Great playing by MArc JAckson. However he couldn't disrupt Shaqs shots once Shaq released them.

The main thing is Dwyane Wade. The Sixers clearly had no answer for Wade. AI would most likely slow him down if he was there, but hey tough luck. D. Wade was making incredible shots such as that reverse lay-up and that sweet spin dunk by Willie Green. MY prediction was Heat by 19 and I guess I was wrong by a while. losing to the top east team(record wise) isn't that bad.

Wow, Wade is definitely going to be a star in the NBA. But I agree with Ace, no answer for him. The Heat have just so many weapons which are hard to stop, Wade, Shaq, Eddie Jones, Haslem, Damon Jones, Butler, they`ll be hard for any team to shutdown. I thought we played well, Marc Jackson looked like he had control of Shaq but it just wasn`t enough.

No kidding. But lately it's like they're not even trying. I'm most discusted because I thought this season was going to be one of the best since the Finals and well, obviously, it hasn't panned out that way.

I still think Ollie should start for Green.

Dont be so negative That NBA Girl. The sixers arent that bad this season. Just look at the Bulls and you will feel alot better beeing a Sixers fan.

I think the game wasnt all that bad. I was hoping for a win for the sixers. Not that im a sixers fan but im just very happy when Shaq looses. Even though the game was lost the sixers played good and that always a good sign.

Marc Jackson had a good game. He played better than I expected. Even had more points than Shaq did. Props to Jackson for a good game. He stood strong to what he said on CSN the other day about how he was going to play his heart out against Shaq.

I'm not trying to be negative. Just saying how I feel. If someone sucked then I'll say it straight out.

I just noticed Jackson outperforming Shaq. How sweet it is.

    And...your avatar is hilarious. :P

    Who would have thought?

Haha, thanks. That's like the 4th unexpected comment I got on it now. :P

Edit: Well, Jackson did have less rebounds than Shaq. But Shaq had more turnovers than Jackson. And Shaq had 6 blocks and Jackson had 1. But Jackson had better FT shooting %. Haha, in the end I guess it's pretty much even. Though I'm giving Jackson more props. [IMG]

Actually, Shaq's stats are running below career averages...and I for one believe that Marc Jackson is underrated a little. So, when you take away AI, you're going to have Korver and a few others' stats blow up a bit...but I figured it would be Kenny Thomas or Iguodala's.

Willie Green played like garbage. I didn't get to watch the game, since I'm in the middle of nowhere...but something was wrong with the guy, by the looks of his stats.

O'Brien hasn't been giving Thomas much playing time lately and keeps playing Williamson longer. I've read that Thomas is pretty upset over that. He hasn't been playing that well of late so maybe that has something to do with it.

Oh, I have an idea...the key ingredient for a Sixer championship run:

    Devean George for Kenny Thomas

And, for a limited time only, the Lakers can give the Sixers:

    Kareem Rush for Kyle Korver

This would be beneficial to both teams. Think about it. [IMG]

    Hey, I tried.

By the way, do you know when Iverson will be back in the lineup?

Maybe against Boston? I'd think... and hope he would be. If not, then against Washington on the 26th. Keep checking the Sixers injury report on the site. They update all the time and that'll probably tell you.

Good...as long as he's back by the three away games they have against the West teams (I believe it starts at the beginning of next month). Hopefully the Sixers can pick up some wins against the Spurs, Grizzlies and Rockets...I'm being optimistic. I gotta cheer for any East team against a West contender. [IMG]

We didn't play that bad in the 1st half, I think we were up 2 or something like that. Iguodala impressive, 8 points, 11 boards, and 6 steals. What happend to Willie? Yuk. Move Iggy to SG and start Korver at the 3, cause Willie is stinking it up, I would give him some time to get his game back on track.

Williamson had another nice game and I think people are overlooking him for a 6th man of the year canidate. Heck we man have 2 of the top 3 6th men in the league in Korver and Williamson.

Hopefully we can turn it around against Boston...

I know you probably heard this before and I for on am also tired of saying this myself, but... The 76ers are a work in progress. Notice they?re playing better and better every game. We're just not able to finish the game. But I can almost guarantee when the 1st half of the season comes close to an end and when the 2nd half of the season begins; the 76ers will be raising eyebrows. I?m telling you I can almost guarantee this but I won?t completely guarantee it because I can?t bare the fact that even though they?re getting better and better game by game they?re just not winning.

Also, don't get too caught up with the season. Even though we tied for leagues best record in 00-01, we nearly lost in the 2nd Round of the Playoffs that year and even the Conference Finals. So don't get toooo caught up with what goes on in the season.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Willie Green played like garbage. I didn't get to watch the game, since I'm in the middle of nowhere...but something was wrong with the guy, by the looks of his stats.</div>

Not really. You as well as Erin (NBA Girl) are discrediting him way too much. You guys are right about him playing as garbage however you are only right to a certain degree because obviously he was indeed garbage offensively. But if you look at what he did PG wise, he did alright. This guy is a very turnover prone player, quite possibly more turnover prone than Allen Iverson. But yet he was still able to dish out 10 Assists (season high) which isn't all that easy since Iverson was out and also committed 0 turnovers. Yes 0 turnovers, not one single mistake. So I think he deserves some credit for that because he was the one that sitting up guys like Jackson and Williamson in which all had great games. So isn?t necessarily fair to discredit him like that because he did his job at the position he was assigned to.

Kyle Korver and Andre Iguodala on the other hand should have stepped up. Kyle Korver only took like five shots I believe and Iguodala only took two shots. As a SG and SF they were suppose to step up and take things upon themselves and try to put points on the board for the 76ers instead of forcing Willie Green to go 1-14.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Maybe against Boston? I'd think... and hope he would be. If not, then against Washington on the 26th. Keep checking the Sixers injury report on the site. They update all the time and that'll probably tell you.</div>

He's going to return in the lineup when they take on Boston. In matter of fact, Iverson could have played the game against Miami. However, O'Brien made him sit for precautious reasons. Iverson already has a left ankle tendonitis and a sore elbow, so what better time to rest him when the 76ers only have one game out of five days.
