I read this article yesterday. It makes me smile and almost tear up everytime I read something great about Stockton. He never gave up on the court and off the court he never stop caring. He was never a me-first, look at me and what I done type of player; the only thing he wanted was to win. I remember reading one article when Stockton recorded 28 assist in a game, they was about 3 minutes left in the game and the Jazz had the game in the bag and they asked him if he wanted to go back in to try to get the record, but he simply said (I'm paraphrasing) we got the W and I rather see some of the young guys get some playing time. If Stockton cared about stats, I think it would have been amazing what he could of done. Its sad that one of the greatest winners in professional sports never won the big one, but I guess thats the way the cards fall sometimes. We can always think what if, but I rather dwell on the good times. #12
very good tribute to john stockton, he was my favourite point guards of all time and one of the few players i respected off the floor. i saw the retirement ceremony on ESPN and it feels good to see 12 in the rafters.
