I was just wondering, does Vince have a habit or ritual of some kind before the game where he pulls himself up on the net? I've seen him do this twice, but just wanted to ask people who saw him play a lot more often.
^ Yes he does. He's done it since 2000-2001 I believe. The first time I saw it was Game 5 of the 2001 Playoffs in Madison Square Garden. Either that or the first game of the semis against the Sixers in the same year.
Yeah, Spawn is right. Every game before tipoff Vince: -Checks the ball with the ref and tosses it to him behind his back - Skips over to the rim and does a chin up - Come down and clap his hands then signal up to the rafters ( to God I'm assumeing)

lol^ thats funny, he hangs on the net everygame and the funny thing is, during the game, hes nowhere near it...

u know what, there are way too many threads devoted to vince in this forum and he's been as valuable this season as milt palacio. for better or for worse he's the face of the franchise until he's gone. babcock u better be working 16 hour days plotting the coup to oust prince vince. Et tu, Babcock
Well, Deception, you have to realize that more than 80% of Raptor fans on this board, and in the Raptor forums, favourite player is Vince. As much as you may not like to see hundreds of threads devoted to Carter, he is the main attraction of the Raptors, and almost the sole reason the Raptors have great attendence every year. He entertains, and kids who start to watch basketball, are usually interested solely in, that aspect. Entertainment. Whether it be his trade rumors, pre-game rituals, shot selection, apparel, or his scoring, Vince is has basically been the only person that Raptor fans would like to talk about in the last few years. To be honest, Vince has been my favourite player the last few years, and when I was posting consistently on this Board, I would be right in the Vince talk. We all just need to realize that, if Vince leaves, the Raptors suffer money-wise, much, much more than on the court. We all know that he has been the leading vote getter the past couple of years in the all-star game, and why? He entertains.(Though not this year) I don't like coming into the forum and seeing countless Vince threads either, but I understand why they are here, and how many Raptors fans would stop watching if Vince left. We need Vince, and hell, you have to admit, it is pretty fun stirring up trade idea's left and right
"Plays like s--t, and throws up jumpers and floaters." Hes not playing great yes but show the man some respect. theres a reason hes gotten so many fans.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Hes not playing great yes but show the man some respect. theres a reason hes gotten so many fans. </div> He deserves absolutely no respect this year. You sign a contract, you play your hardest till you finish it. You don't act like a baby and just stop trying and not play your hardest. Our "franchise player" is the cancer on that team. He's got "so many fans" either because #1- Half of them only fell in love with his dunking #2- The rest fell in the love with him after the 2001 playoff run.... #3- And the final and true fans are the ones who have supported him since when he arrived in Toronto to face off against the Vancouver Grizzlies in 1998-1999 or even prior to that Right now, the same fans are all against him. This has never happened before. Even when the whole world was against Vince 2 or so years ago, Raptor and Vince fans stuck by him. But now, it's actually pitiful to be supporting him. How are we supposed to support him? What do we support him on? He's healthy, he's taking PLENTY of shots but he's playing and acting like a jackass. He never drives, he shows no heart and he's running from the same thing that made him such a superstar in the early millenium (explosiveness). And he wonders why fans boo him. He's having as much impact this year as Michael Bradley used to. This man is disgracing himself, first and foremost.
