Brown has been advised by doctors that traveling could cause complications to his hip, which he underwent surgery for earlier this month. He missed five games following the surgery and has had a noticeable limp since returning.

In Brown's absence, the Pistons went 2-3 under assistant Gar Heard, who will resume coaching duties against Charlotte on Tuesday and Cleveland on Wednesday.

Brown and Ben are both gone. The Pistons are still a great team that can through adversities like this easily. This news is not very bad for Detroit as well.
