Just before he retires he mentioned either Seattle or Oakland as teams where he'd give his last hurrah. He probably wants that ring first though and by the time he gets it (if he gets it) it will be too late. He'll be a shell of what he used to be. I bet he goes to Seattle first though since that was his first team. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/spor...786_soni21.html Too bad he couldn't have done it sooner. We have needed a point guard for the longest time.
I don't know why Goldenstate will ever be interested in Payto. He's only declining and they really don't need him.

Gary's very removed from his Oakland roots since he's been away so long, but at his price (cheaper than D-Fish at about a flat 5 million a year) I'd take him.
How lame are the Warriors that we are even talking about Fisher vs. a washed up Glove? Damn look around, the Jazz pick Arroyo in the 2nd rd, have Lopez backing up, even that 3rd pt guard looked decent against the Warriors; the Heat have Damon Jones as a backup; the Mavs get Marquis Daniels in the 2nd; the Kings get Bobby Jackson as a FA; Sonics pick Ridnour; the Cavs have Snow and McInnis... Warriors front office is horrid; even including Mullin who paid out $36M for an undersized Steve Kerr.
I rate Mullin 2nd worst GM, barely beating out Twerdzik at this stage, because Mullin didn't draft Fuller over Kobe yet. Yes. 2nd worst GM since I started to root for Warriors, which is the year before we drafted Webber...
hmmm...how about some sort of trade involving Payton and Paul Pierce? And I don't know, get Jiri back? If we have to trade Speedy, I don't know if I really mind...with Fish and Payton, that's deep playoff experience running the plays. Well, maybe except for Fish, who didn't really run the plays in LA. Me thinks the loss of Avery Johnson has hurt the team more than we've imagined.
Fisher/Payton was a horrible backcourt combo for the Lakers IMO. They couldn't guard quicker players. I dunno I think GP still has some game left if he's allowed to do his own thing. Defensively he may not be "The Glove" because he won't be covering as well or playing a tight fit over anybody. I think for now Speedy is one of our best players because he creates for others. Not too many guys do that in the league because of bad ballhandling, lack of quickness or lack of court awareness. BTW welcome superder81 Have you signed the warriors roll call yet? How long have you been a warriors fan and how did you find out about Justbball?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">This is not the discussion I expected to have before this season started. Its been sad thus far.</div> No. It's not, and I don't think any Warriors fans expected this, especially after rather promising preseason. Throughout our 10 years of dark age, I always managed to find the hope. But, in this season, I can't find it anywhere...
There is always hope.... i hope the warriors cut cheaney. he could easily have been the dog with his oh so rookie move of not calling a time out on the rebound then stepping out of bounds. moron. so he played his best game of the season cause he made to scoop prayer shots.... i would have much rather seen Pietrus down the stretch IF we are going to go with our youth ....then play our youth, take the lumps and bruises..... and losses and abandon this obvious failure year to year of playing vets that are not our future for a win now attitude.... pietrus should be getting 30 plus minutes a game....biedrins at least 25..... dunleavy 30 plus...... Play these young guys together and let them grow and learn from their mistakes. Instead we bury Biedrins on the IR, he barely got garbage time minutes when he was active. I dont care if we go 3-79 as long as we make a decision to play our young guys and see what they can do win or lose. Enough of this win today theory, that gets up a few rungs so we can get the 11th pick again. My hope is that they play the yong guys and not waste those expiring contracts (c-rob and Davis) on a baron davis or jason kidd and put that money where we need it most a player in the post.

My grandfather was a die-hard, and enjoyed games in Oakland during the last championship season in '75. The rest of the fam sadly jumped ship once the Kings came to town (I'm from the Central Valley), but I'm keeping the Golden State bloodlines intact. I'm 23 going on 24 now. And I found out about Justbball from someone posting about it on the San Jose Mercury Warriors message board. I like to balance it out with the positivity over here. Good lookin' out, Derrick
Hey guys, I'm a season ticket holder who has been lurking for a little while here, and I thought I should throw my hat into the ring. boogielew- I too would have loved to see more of Piertus last night (everyone in the arena agrees, he was definately the fan favorite), but I think they must be resting him because of his injury. That is the only explanation that makes any sense, because he was hands down the best player on the floor last night. On the bright side, I didn't see him aggravate his shoulder, but it is probably still sore. On the Cheaney issue, I really didn't mind him getting those minutes. Yesterday was the first time I have seen him play to potential all season, and honestly, we need him. First of all, his defense is very good, and he locked down Lee Nailon. I know that sounds pathetic, but when Calbert wasn't guarding him, Nailon was consistantly lighting us up on mid-range jumpers. Secondly, he is one of the few people on our team who can consistantly hit open shots within his range. Actually, I think Speedy is the only other one, maybe Sesay. Fisher would probably be in this group, but his shot selection this year has been just plain bad. Dunleavy could be considered if you pretend that his range is 18'. I'm not saying I want to see Cheaney out there instead of the young guys, but you need a cost/benefit analysis. In my opinion, if Mickael plays 3-5 minutes in the 4th quarter of last game then we win in 4 quarters. But if he gets hurt and has to go back on the IR, that is going to cost us a lot more games later on. Sesay I wouldn't have minded seeing a bit, but anymore minutes of Dunleavy and I would have had a coniption fit. Actually, towards the end of the first OT we were joking about sending Dunleavy in to take the last shot. I think that was the happiest I've ever been to have my foot in my mouth.

They should have sat Jrich too a long time ago though because he was just cold, 9 missed shots in a row? Why the flurry of jumpers? Just play under control and start posting up. But he just was out of control. BTW welcome GSWScruff. How long have you been a warriors fan and how did you find out about JustBBall?
Posted my info in the lounge. Supposedly JR's excuse for not being a great perimeter player is that he played the 4 growing up. I infer that he is a good post player for his height. Well, I guess David Wesley at 6 foot nothing is Ben Wallace of the midgets, because JR couldn't post him up for his life. What I do like about JR is that he takes initiative and enjoys having the ball. We have a few guys on the team that are "ball stoppers" (I think I am borrowing this phrase from Jim Barnett) that absolutely kill the flow of the offense. JR makes some silly mistakes sometimes, but I forgive him, his decision making seems to improve (unlike his jumper) on a regular basis and he keeps the ball moving. He likes having the ball. When he squares up you can see him think, "I am going to break this guy down and score." In contrast, Dunleavy gets the ball and you can see him think "Ok now, jab step . . . pump fake . . . crossover move . . . dribble . . . dribble . . . jump, oh wait there's an open guy, but no I better shoot." He wants to make sure he is always doing the right thing, but it makes him play the game in his head. He looks like a sloth. He doesn't look like he want the ball and he doesn't even look like he's enjoying himself. I think he could be phenomenal if he loosened up a bit. Same thing goes for JR with his defense.

Right now Dunleavy seems to be underachieving... either that the people that hyped him up and drafted him must have overevaluated talent.
