I'm a little concerned lately due to Timberwolves performance. It may just be because it's early in the season, but I cant help thinking that they aren't playing like a team that's championship bound. Now I realize that some teams dont take the regular season too seriously and bring up the performance towards the end of the season ( Like the recent Shaq/Kobe Lakers) But there's a lot of other teams that are playing very well right now, and this is what I really dont want to see: Minnesota squeaks past Houston...Without T-Mac Minnesota squeaks past Dallas...Without Nowitski I'm not too sure how to feel about that, because it seems like I can assume that if Dirk played last night, or if T-Mac played the other night, that you could just slap another 30 points on the teams score. So I dont know if i'm just worring too much, but I just like to see my team do well.
I've always been a big believer that the Timberwolves play up or down to their opponents and just take it one game at a time. They are really good at concentrating on the task at hand and winning. Yes, the wolves squeeked past Houston w/out T-Mac and also squeeked past Dallas without Nowitzki but they have also shown that on the very next evening, they can beat the best teams in the league.
Well, a win is a win. i have always believed in the timberwolves and im sure they will give it their best effort for the upcoming season. anyway i have limited access to twolves games this season as i don't have the league pass so i cant really comment on the team. but my heart still tells me the twolves gonna be champs this year
The only thing that concerns me. And will continue to concern me until the problem is fixed, is the way the Wolves come out of the locker room to start 2nd halfs/3rd quarter. They dont seem to have their focus at the start of the 2nd half. And teams are using that to their advantage to create space between themselves in the Wolves. So the Wolves spend most of 2nd halfs trying to dig themselves out of holes, they created by their play to start the half. Other then that, I dont really worry about teams playing close against the Wolves without their so-called superstars. Houston is a veteran basketball team with alot of guys, who have been around this league for along time Jim Jackson, Howard, Mutombo, Ward etc. so they no how to find away to at least be competive for a short period of time even when one of their leading troops are down. And Dallas has so many scoring options, that they are always going to be a difficult out no matter what lineup they throw on the floor.
you couldn't slap on another 30 points to the score, i believe the score would have been roughly the same if nowitzki and t-mac played because they would'ev taken shots instead of other players. Instaed of josh howard or whatever getting 20 points, he would've gotten 10 and nowitzki would've taken his shots.. perhaps the score would've been higher but i don't believe that the timberwolves aim every night to blow out the other team, i belieave that they aim to get a win.
