Paul Pierce The last time these two teams played both of these players had huge games.Peirce tore threw the Sixers defense, as Iverson did the same to the Celtics. If the Sixers want to be sucessful guarding Pierce they are going to have to double him as much as possible and make him shoot hard shots and pass to his team mates.Iverson is coing off an injury to his right elbow so we'll have to see if that effects his shooting or style of play. Philadelphia 76ers Keys to the Game The Sixers have to find a way to slow down Paul Pierce as much as they can, he killed them last time with a near triple double.Another thing is ot make the supporting cast of Paul Pierce step it up, if we are able to hold role players like Blount and Ricky Davis to an average night then we have a good chance of beating this team at home. Boston Celtics Keys to the Game The Celtics were very close t beating the Sixers in the season opener. If it wasnt for Kyle Korver and Allen Iverson saving this team at the end, then the Celtics would have came out with the win.If they play the same way they did last time, and they contain Iverson and Korver on the perimeter, then they have a chance at upseting the Sixers, and sending them to their 4th straight loss.
In the keys to the game, you forgot to mention that the 76ers need to control the glass like they did before. This is primarily the reason why they did got themselves back into the game. At first they were getting out-rebounded my a small margin, but eventually when they made they're run they controlled the glass on both ends and avoided to give the Celtics second chance opportunities like they did when they went down by as much as 19 points. But other than that and containing Paul Pierce, if the 76ers play their regular game I don't see any reason why they can't take this one.
I really think this may be a bad move by OB by putting Korver in the starting lineup. He is gonna get lit up left and right by Pierce. But in the end it'll be the 6ers by 5pts.
Yeah the Sixers need to put pressure on Pierce who can become almost unstoppable if he gets hot. They do that and control the boards, I can see the 76ers by 6-8 points.
I don't see the SIxers taking this one unless they play good defense and Kenny Thomas gets out of that slump that's killing us. We NEED his scoring help because Iverson cant take all the scoring load along with Jax and KK who combine about 26-30 points. In the end i say the Celtics by 8
I'll give a simple formula, if the Sixers don't contain Pierce the Sixers will lose, if the Sixers contain Pierce the Sixers will win. You can't let Piece go big for this game, I think it will be a very close hard fought game by both teams. Celtics - 94 Sixers - 90 :thumbsdow

The Celtics just got embarrased last night by whats left of the Pacers. That combined with what happened in the season opener and that they're facing their old coach is the reason I think that they will be so focused on winning this game that the Sixers won't have much of a chance. Also, to add a little excitement to this game, just think about how if the Celtics lose than I have to sport the sig of Avery's choice for 2 weeks.
Well look at it this way, the Sixers beat the Pacers when they still had their players. So if the Celtics lost to this short handed Pacers team, then I tihnk are chances are vry good at home. EDIT:The Sixers seem to be playing good in the first half. Its half time and its Philly 56 Boston 52, if the Sixers want to win this game they'll have to keep containing Paul Pierce, and slow down Ricky Davis who has 17 at the half.
What a game by Josh Davis, 19 points. That must be the highlight of his life. Sixers looked very sharpe tonight, Iguodala had a nice game across the board, 7 points, 9 boards, 5 assits, 5 steals, and 0 turnovers. Dalembert must have got charged for about 5 goaltends in this game. What's the deal with Kenny Thomas?!? I think we may have a deal worked out involving him because you don't just play your leading rebounder 3 minutes a game. Same with Willie Green, he went from starting lineup to playing 11 minutes per game. I am interested in what kind of sig Avery chooses for 44thrilla

Quoting Need4Sheed:

-EDIT-
That's pretty grimey Need4Sheed. I wouldn't disrespect a franchise like that.

Quoting Need4Sheed:

-EDIT-
LOL ya anyway what I saw of the Sixers( watched it when there was a Cavs game commercial) they played pretty good. They had their groove the whole game and kept to it. Boston never really caught up except at half time it was pretty close. THe Celtics need Gary Payton to step it up more if they want to win. 2 Points is unexcusable from a hall of famer point guard. Ricky DAvis seemed to help the Celtics off the bench. but it wasn't nearly enough. I say we trade Kenny THomas along in the Glenn Robinson deal. We will get something better in return and Kenny just doesn't work in Jim O Brians system.
This game was need for the Sixers, who were on a 4 game losing streak. The play of the game was Josh Davis, I never would have thought he would contribute a night like this.44 Thrila I love your sig, probaly the best on JBB, Ill make a bet with you the next time these teams meet!
About my post above, sometimes you's are a lil up tight on this site. Come on now and little graphic of a guy taking a whizz on the Celtics? Ever hear of trash talking? Gimme a break.
