    Antawn Jamison!

It still amazes me that he is not considered at the same level as guys like Iverson, McGrady, Carter, and Pierce. If you don't follow his team you almost completly forget about him when you are thinking of elite players, but when your team plays his you start to realize how good he is. I think he doesn't get that much respect because he does everything quietly. He's almost like Duncan in that respect. I'm pretty sure he's never made the all star team and that makes me sick. I hope that changes this year and he makes it on the team. I also hope people start giving him the respect he deserves and he becomes one of the NBA "superstars" that even your grandmother knows.

Well I wouldnt put him in the class of McGrady, Pierce and them because I personally am one who believe he can't lead a team. I do think he deserved an Allstar position by now and he will get it, and Ibeleive he is very underrated..a superstar? I dont know about that. I would call him a star, but a B rate star a great player who needs a lot of help to lead a team (Arenas, Hughes, hopefully Kwame).

Golden State Wins: 19-17-21, and 38 games while Jamison was there, there is your answer.

That is exactly my point, he cant lead a team to the playoffs unless he has some great help.

Do you guys want me to say my thoughts on my favorite player? Or should I keep my bias to myself?

    Ok here we go:

Keep in mind A.J is my favorite player. It is great that we are celebrating his great playing this year, but at the same time it is so frickin sad, that we are only talking about him now. Over his career he has everaged 19.2 PPG., 1.6 APG, and 7.4 RPG. And how exactly do you go about scoring 24.9 PPG, and pulling down 8.7 RPG., and not make the all-star team. He also is the only player to score 50 points on back to back nights, and why didn't you guys know that because you were to busy kissing Kobe's butt because he scored 50 in that same game. He will never get in scandals(ppossibly hurts his pub), and doesn't talk trash. He has just as much scoring ability as anyone in the league. He is shedding his name as a player who doesn't show up in big games.

Those are very valid points but you cant say for sure he wil never be involved in scandals..everyone said that about Kobe..stuff happens. He is very underrated, but the most underrated? No..I would say that would be Elton Brand.

Elton Brand can lead a team?

Oh, and Brand has also been an all star, so what qualifies him as underrated?

Because he should be a constant allstar, his efficiency rating is always top 5, and I think he could lead a team given the right players..he has had players in L.A., but I dont think they have had the right players, now they have a core of Brand, Maggette, and Livingston and I think that will get them far in a couple of years. I would take Brand over Jamison anyday, it may just be a personal opinion but I think he is better and more valuable than Jamison.

Not to take this thread off topic, but efficiency rating is one of the most BS stat rating systems there are.

Personally I feel, like everyone said, Jamison is a good player but can't be the number one option on his team.

And comparing Brand and Jamison this year, Brand plays a bit better defense, gets to the line more, and is a better rebounder. He takes about 14 shots a game and makes about 7 (50%). Jamison takes 20 a game and makes 9 (45%). Jamison turns the ball over less so far though (4.1 per 100 min as compared to 6.2 for Brand).

And looking at one of the better stat comparisons out there, the Wizards are +21.0 points per 100 possessions better with Jamison on the floor than off. Last year NBA teams averaged about 91 possessions per game.

The same stat for Brand: +15.4 per 100. Oddly enough, looking at that same stat for last year, the Clips were only +1.6 better with Brand on the floor than off, and Jamison was +2.9 on the Mavs. Big improvements so far for both.

[IMG] how can you compare to the Clippers former teams who had player who were trying to pad their stats just so they could get good contracts, I won't bore you with anything, but look at the injuries the team has had since Brand has been there, and look at the year they weren't injured except for Odom, they won 39 games and weren't even as talented as that Warriors team with Arenas, Jamison etc...

If you want I'll bring up some Brand Clippers history for you, horrible example. Also Brand plays defense, and does everything on the floor, even hustling. One guy on a team where people who get there want out immediately and want to pad stats till this year when we're actually looking like a team won't change too much.

Also about Tmac, he lost one season, but he won the others, Jamison won 21 games or less in 3 seasons, that's horrible.

Now about being an All-Star, he should definately be one this season, I even told people to vote for him, but not underatted at all.

Also you realize that these aren't even the best numbers he's put up yet no one says it till this year, common man, Jamison is a good player, and has been a great locker room guy for the team, but to say he's underatted is just odd.

You guys are acting like I said he's better than Jordan.

    I'll ask a simple question-

Who is a better veteran player who has never made an all star team?

No fan should disagee with that, not just us Wizards fans, if you have looked at his career, you will realize that it is total bulls*** that he has never made an all-star team.

Actually no it's not lol, he played in the West as a forward, put the pieces together, starters have been KG and Duncan for a while now, and their's a whole lot of other forwards to compete with, Dirk, Webber, Brand, Peja, Marion, Malone, Rasheed Wallace, and McDyess [the 21 and 12 McDyess]

Yes it is, and he was playing PF in the west so you can take out Marion, and Peja. He put up the same numbers that everyone else put up, but since he played on a small market team he got shafted.
