There's no excuse for us to come out with that kind of effort."</div><div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"We don't go out and compete on the road. Well once again Mitchell calls out certain unnamed individuals. But who could they be? It can't be the usual VC & Jalen b/c Vince played well (statistically at least) and Rose didn't even play. I didn't actually see the game but judging from the stats it seems like Sow and Moiso were pretty useless. My bets are on those two.
I'm betting it's Lamond Murray as one of the two. He did play pretty bad last night. Maybe Moiso or Peterson are one of the two he's calling out.
This is what we needed in a head coach. We needed someone who could give constructive criticisms to the players and at the same time compliment them when they are doing good. Lenny Wilkens didn't care, Kevin O'Neil gave destructive criticisms, and Butch Carter was the only one who could push Carter in a positive way. Sam Mitchell is like someone who has all the good things of the other head coaches - He's like Hubie Brown in that he uses his bench efficiently, he's like Butch Carter in that he pushes Carter to do good, and he's like Greg Popovich in that he has a clear philosophy set on how he wants his guys to play: If you don't come to play, you stay on the bench.
murray really needed that start to prove something...with his great bench play as of late. To bad he couldnt get it done. I figured he'd play like a man with something to prove
certainly he cant be referring to mo pete...he's playing great. he struggles with his jumpshot some games, but thats the story of his career...he ALWAYS brings it on defense and attacks the basket. mo pete has been playing well im sure he was talking to guys who were'nt going to war on the boards or boxing out their assignments.
