Friday's game at the Staples arena in LA ,as the Kings(7-4) take on the Lakers(7-5)in what will be a really good game. In the Battle of Bitter rivals, were not just playing a game, were in a warzone.LOL..anyways this is a must win for both teams,as the Lakers need to win against winning NBA West teams, and the Kings need to win because we want to show the NBA that we can beat our rival LA team. I Suspect that this will be a very close game, and will be very contested to the very end, however i really don't have any predictions as who will win the game,as it's anybodys guess who will win..If we keep our Offensive scoring drive alive and well, and get some great D Coverage we can win the game,if not we will lose. Anyone wanna predict the outcome?
I must say i disagree about it being a bitter rivalry and a warzone. Now that shaq is gone and LA has an entirely different team i think the rivalry is pretty much squashed. Not sure why everyone still thinks its a race for the pacific division between these two teams. As the kings are the favorite to win the pacific theyll be the favorite to win this game as well. LA beating sac would clearly be an upset.Kings win by 7 , 98-91.

The Kings are the favorites to win the Pacfic, but let's not understimate the Lakers here as even without Shaq and a few other players there still good.never ever put count out any other team in the race for the NBA Pacfic, and it's still early to tell, but as long as Kobe's on the Lakers..there going to be good. It will be a close game like i have said, probably down to the last minute, but we all know who i want to win  GO KINGS

This is what Rudy T needs to stress Friday night against the Kings. Sacramento is used to our terribly slow half court offense in the Shaq-era...but now, things are different, and the Lakers are moving on at a much quicker pace. How tough will Mihm/Divac have it against Brad Miller? Or better yet, can Odom contain Webber? These two questions are definitely on the mind of our frontcourt. Webber should be forced to take jumpshots in this game, not attacking the basket. Also, on offense, Odom will want to draw C-Webb farther from the hoop, to use his speed to drive the baseline hard and hope to either draw the foul and/or rack up two points. Atkins is going to have to work extra hard against Mike Bibby. Nash seemed to be a tough player to guard for Atkins...and Bibby will be no different. Bibby's defense is actually better than Steve Nash's...so Tierre could see some significant minutes Friday night, for his slashing/scoring abilities and his quickness at the point. As far as Doug Christie goes, expect Kobe to pick him apart and leave him behind on alot of plays. As of late, Christie's game has been below average, so Kobe should take advantage of this to draw easy double teams, passing it out for open shots...and then late in the game, shoot the lights out. Brandon's Prediction Expect to see alot of highlights by Kobe in this game, and possibly a good performance by Mike Bibby. Look for the Kings to take the lead in the fourth, carry it up until the last 3 minutes...and at that point, you'll find that Kobe can carry the Lakers on his back, and hit a game-winner to change this Pacific playing card from Kings to Queens, 101-99.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">Run and gun. This is what Rudy T needs to stress Friday night against the Kings.</div> Are you serious? Run and Gun? The Lakers want to run with Sacramento? Perhaps the best overall scoring machine in the league for the past three seasons? The one advantage The Lakers always had was their defense and their ability to grind games out in the low post. Obviously they no longer possess that ability but I wouldn't suggest a "run and gun" attempt against The Kings, that's playing into their hand entirely. Interesting statistic I would like to bring up about this game on Friday... Sacramento: Good at comeback wins and maintaining leads after 3 2ND in the league in wins when TRAILING after 3 Quarters (Comeback) 5TH in the league in wins when LEADING after 3 Quarters (Keeps Leads) Lakers on the other hand... 23RD in the league when LEADING after 3 Quarters 28TH in the league when TRAILING after 3 Quarters I defintely think these statistics will play a huge factor in Friday Night's game, Sacramento tends to run up the score in "Run and Gun" type games and it could prove to knock out LA early because of their inability to recover from deficits. **Statistics from ESPN.com
We gotta run with them...use Tierre and Kobe, Butler, Odom, and anyone else that can get up and down the floor...because we really have no other option. We cannot slow this game down too much, because that puts pressure on both our passing and awareness. We've gotta use fast breaks, push the ball up court, and do what we can defensively. We don't have a 355 lbs liability slowing EVERYONE down now...so we can experiment with this new, revamped Laker squad, and maybe something good will come out of this.

At the very least, there is (1) a "Division Rival" and a classic (2) NoCal vs SoCal Rival...
I think that this will be a close one with this game being in L.A. and I think that it will go right down to the wire. Hopefully, the Kings can find a way to pull it out.
there are so many ways this game can go. its one of the tougher ones to preview. its pretty obvious that Christie isnt going to shut Bryant down... & no one expects him to. I think the key to this game is to let Bryant get his numbers, force him into bad shots or jackin up every shot they take and keeping everyone else out of the game. If he starts to get agressive in taking the lane the Kings are going to have to find a way to take a charge or two & that will also help to shut that option down for him. if they play Divac a lot in this game it is going to work in the Kings favor. We all know that Divac has problems running the court with fast teams... so keeping the tempo pretty fast while he is in will help a lot. Im really looking forward to watching this game tonight... should be a pretty good game and its easily winable for the Kings as long as they keep playing the way they have over the last 6 games. (lots of hustle, rebounding and getting the high percentage shots to go in). good bench production is going to be pretty important also so Jackson and Songaila are going to have to be firing on all cylenders tonight.
Sacramento gets the win in a awesome game, 109-106. Peja was clutch down the stretch, hitting 4 critical free throws at the end. A great game!!!
Great game, Kings. I was looking for Kobe at the very end, after the first attempt...but to no avail. I was hoping you guys wouldn't score so much, but you did. But...don't think you're out of the clear just yet...because we aren't so easy to beat as everyone thinks.
The game wasnt quite what i expected. Kings need to address the rebounding problem. Geoff has to know they have no chance at a championship if they keep getting outrebounded the way they have been.It was the only reason LA was in the game.

Give the Lakers some credit. We have one center (since Vlade is still hurting), we picked up early fouls with Odom and Mihm both, and it was the Kings not being able to contain Kobe, and the lack of defense from BOTH teams, that kept the game close. I could easily say that if it wasn't for Brian Cook's missed three, we would've won...but I'll give the Kings credit for winning, and the Lakers credit for almost leaving STAPLES with a win.
holy crap what a game! it was pretty close at the end and another game where the Kings played solid team defense at the end to help get another win. The Kings have been using some unorthodox ideas to shore up their defensive game and they appear to be working (like having Christie and Miller doubling Bryant). Stojakovic has really stepped up his defensive game (he is still not going to be known this year as a defensive standout, but he is doing a lot better than he has in the past). Webber finished the game with a double double 22pts, 16rbs and 7ast. Stojakovic lead the scoring with 26pts including going 13 of 13 at the FT line. If I had to point at anything that really put the nail in the coffin for the Lakers it would be the TO's and poor FT shooting. the Lakers had 13 TO's compaired to 8 for the Kings and went 26 of 33 compared to 25 of 27 for the Kings in the area of FT's. (shooting 78% from the stripe as a team is not going to help anyone's game)
There was the tech down the stretch. Cook went 1 of 2 on. It would have been a 2 point game instead of a 3 in the final seconds. That would have made alot of difference. FREE THROWS MAN! PEJA HIT THEM ALL. THE LAKERS DIDN'T. Bottom Line.
I feel what i said was legit. I think LA fans give the Lakers enough credit. The kings got the snot beat out of them on the boards plain and simple.Take that away and it would have been a more clear cut win.Its a problem sac has had for awhile.
Sounds like a ripper game. Pissed off that ESPN in Australia only telecasted the earlier game between the Heat and the Pistons. My main man Peja 26pts. Word
