Great game last night, a nail biter all the way through. I was dissapointed we ended up short though.
Note to Rudy T: Never play Slava.
Note to Lamar: You are in the NBA, no reason to miss 3 EASY LAYUPS
Note to Caron: Don't be afraid to call for the ball
Note to Kobe: Keep doing your thing, someone will step up and help you
Note to Jumaine and Cook: Great game, nice way to step up and hit some big threes...
I am really dissapointed with Lamar's play this season, I was hoping he would be able to click right away, but that isnt the case. Rudy T needs to get this team to gel soon, I do not want to see a collapse.

Hats off to Brian Cook and Jumaine Jones for their effort. Chucky Atkins hit a couple of treys but had that costly offensive foul where he stiff armed Bibby on the fast break. Kobe was the man in that game. Breakin through tripple teams and the whole bit. If Odom would have made 2 of those 3 blown layups, there might have been a different outcome. [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But honestly, I think this game could go either way. But I'm going to have to go with the Kings on this on. Kings by 11. Also, for some reason I have a feeling Kobe may go for 40+ in this game</div>

Did I call it or what? *Regrets playing Pick n' Win*

As for the game, it was a very good one needless to say. However, the Lakers defense was not good. And this was very much expected heading into this season. They're interior defense really lacks and the defense as a whole is lackadaisical. But then again, they were going against the Sacramento Kings which is arguably the best offensive team in the NBA. So you can take that into some consideration on why the Lakers defense looked so bad last night.

And then there is Kobe Bryant. Amazing game, he did everything on the court, but he is going to need Odom to step up. He can't have his supporting cast led by Jumaine Jones and Brian Cook, instead it's supposed to be led by Lamar Odom and Caron Butler. I don't know what's up with Odom however, the way he played with Dwyane Wade and the Heat last year is completely different from the way he is playing right now. I think his comfort level is not there, he looks very hesitant and not very comfortable at all.

Once again the Laker woes against a Western Conference opponent continues. Kobe Bryant played an amazing game...I'll give him all the credit in the world, certainly a fanstastic effort, but we just tanked the game away due to minor mistakes in the end. We kept trading basket after basket in the fourth quarter. We couldn't lay a body on anybody. Brian Cook missed a WIDE open three pointer from the top of the key, which anybody 90% of the time should make with ease, the flagrant foul on Christie when Cook should've swished the game away with a two point margin and another key possession, and simply the double team trap on Kobe that led to the steal by Peja. Just devastating. This is one of the biggest games of the year for this young Laker team, and I have no idea how long this borderline record will keep up because it's unacceptable. Something needs to change for the better.

The kings are on a 7 game winstreak and LA no longer has Shaq and hasnt beaten a notible western conference team yet. Reality check please.

I don't think he meant that the Kings are going downhill as in losing progress, I think he meant it as in they are "unstopable". Moving very quickly and powerfully?

the main reason why the Lakers lost was because of the numerous fouls they gave w/c resulted in 2 free throws. almost all the points the kings scored in the third were free throw points. the refs were calling way too many fouls on odom and mihm w/c limited their playing time.

The Lakers are staying in games. I just like the idea that the Lakers can beat any team on any given night. They have the talent. They need to hold the ball more, stay out of foul trouble, and make that extra pass....
