guys i think its style of play, the new trend of half court, walk it up basketball is nauseating to watch. pat riley, the van gundy brothers, carlisle and kevin o'neil introduced this obsessive defensive emphasis. coaching is the main culprit.
netnexus... C'mon now, why is everyone talkin about the bad things about this league everyone is always focused on the bad things. This league isnt boring. You act like every second of the Michael Jordan era we'd be on the edge of our seats. If you watch the games on Classic you'll see that it wasnt Spectacular play after play. Do you want them to bring back the short shorts, maybe that'll brighten up your sight. ANd an elephant with a guy juggling bowling pins will come out every 2 minutes. Maybe that will get you excited. You remember when Reggie hit three after three after three, well then your watching the wrong guy in KG, why dont you check Dirk. When Kobe and Shaq were great, Have you seen Dwayne Wade play??? So really I think the biggest possiblility would be with those 2 teams.
The league hasn't for me. Maybe it's just because I'm a die hard NBA fan. It is far less superior to the days of MJ, Magic, Bird and the rest of them. But, I think it's because people are getting better. NBA superstars now I think are better than than the ones in the 70's and 80's.

The players as mrj18 said are geting better I think, you just can't see it because the overall talent of the league is better and no one player such as MJ can dominate the game. I eman Wilt wouldn't be averaging 55 and 22 today as he did in that one season i think. Back in those days I wouldn't put it pass you if you saw Shaq averaging 70 and 30. Wilt would be a great player today just not as great as he was. THe thing people like to see are RIVALRIES! People love RIVALRIES/ Hopefully the Shaq and Kobe rivalry will excite people and get them to watch the gamee. And LEBRon and Carmelo too. People like watching MAgic and Bird in their match-ups and Wilt and Bill Russell and MJ and Karl Malone/Payton/whoever. I think Shaq vs Kobe is the kind of thing the league needs for publicity.
I think if you put anyone of us members on JBB around when the NBA started we might even be dominating the league. We would probably be all hall of famers and our jerseys retired.

I watch all 4 quaters and appreciate all for quaters and I am not saying basketball ISN't fun to watch anymore, i am just saying it doesn't seem as explosive as before. but then again, maybe your just a presumptuous prick who doesn't read posts properly.
