Good luck to Hubie in him getting better from whatever it is he has. This is a big blow to the Grizzleis, IMO, Hubie was key to their system. I hope the interim can do some good for them
It's a shame to see such a great and historical coach to retire when the Grizzlies are starting to play well together. Farewell Hubie.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Voodoo Child:</div><div class="quote_post">You know, I was wondering that myself. This may sound crazy, but I am actually hoping that Jason Williams reverts to his old ways. It's sad to say it, but while he may be a bit better of a player right now, he's really boring to watch. White Chocolate used to be the most entertaining player in the NBA, and I'd love to see him make a comeback.</div> You see, this is the problem with the NBA. Fans just want to see highlights everytime down the court instead of solid bball. To tell you the truth I enjoy watching Jason Williams play now more than before. Yeah he might be a little bit more boring, however he dosen't try to force any crazy passes, and every once in a while he will throw a highlight pass in there. Just had to get that off my chest. Now back to the Grizzlies coach. If it is true that they wanted their assistant to follow after Hubie, then they should keep him. If not, then I feel that Phil is a much better option then the Czar.
Is this how you guys treat the man who gave the grizzlies some much-needed respect to the nba and their first playoff berth in 100 years... drive him away after a mediocre but steady start? ur bad..get well soon hubes u still da man

Hubie retired on his own account. He's a 71 year-old man; how logical would it be for him to coach for a few more years? Everyone can see that retirement coming.

Jason Williams was just as productive when he was "White Chocolate". It's not like his averages skyrocketed when he cooled down his game. He just got more boring.
Hubie Brown had considered retiring after last season, but decided to stay on because he felt like he had a commitment to the Grizzlies. But this was the right move as Hubies health was declining and his health wouldn't allow him to continue guiding the Grizzlies. So i wish the very best to Brown,as he had one hellva career in coaching.
