Contain Jamison and/or Arenas:

Washington has 2 main scorers that can explode at any point during the game, Antawn Jamison (6th man from last year) and Gilbert Arenas, the Sixers main goal on defence should be to contain both of them. Jamison is having the best season of his career, averaging just over 24 points and 8.8 boards a game.

    Let it rain 3-balls:

The Sixers are 6th in the league in three point percentage and they should show why again today against the Wizards. Two deadly three point threats in the starting lineup for the Sixers are Josh Davis and Kyle Korver. Philadelphia is also #7 in three pointers made per game.

    ______________________________________

    Key's to the Game:

    1) Contain Jamison and Arenas

Again Washington's two main scorers, you can't always stop them from scoring but you can contain them from having a big day.

    2) Box Out

Washington is one of the worst shooting teams in the league at 41%, we have to box out and not let Washington get those 2nd chance shots, and easy buckets.

    3) D!:

Washington is ranked #2 in the league in points per game only behind the Suns, we must force turnovers, and do what ever it takes to keep the Wizards from putting up 100+ points.

    _____________________________________

    CourtKing's Prediction:

Washington's top 2 scorers will be hard to stop, rookie Andre Iguodala and Allen Iverson will have their hands full on defence, but I think that Iverson and Iguodala will both step up their defencive game (not that Iguodala can step it up anymore) and hold both to under 23 points:

    Washington: 92
    76ers: 98

I'm going to miss the game though [IMG]

Wizards coach Eddie Jordan hospitalized with blood clot in leg

Quote:

Washington Wizards coach Eddie Jordan was hospitalized with a blood clot in his left leg and will miss the next two games.

Jordan, 49, felt discomfort in his leg and was hospitalized Thursday night after consulting with a team trainer, the Wizards said Friday. He was resting comfortably and was expected to remain in the hospital for several days.

Assistant Mike O'Koren will coach the team during Jordan's absence. The Wizards play the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night and the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

    Link

You can consider this a big blow for the Wizards.

But as far as the games go, the 76ers need to play team defense to win. The Wizards have like 3-4 players who are capable of scoring 25+, so the 76ers must play defense as a team and not individually like they?ve done in previous games excluding the last game.

As for the Wizards, they need to attack the paint. The 76ers don't have much interior defense so they need to exploit that. Gilbert Arenas on the other hand has the size and strength advantage over Allen Iverson, so he should try attacking Iverson. But on the other hand virtually every player has the size and strength advantage over Iverson and they always ends up having a long night with him. But Arenas need to concentrate on staying agressive.

The 76ers are at home and with the lineup of Iverson, Iguodala, Korver, Davis and Jackson they performed very well in the last game. So if things go accordingly the 76ers should take this one. And for the 76ers to keep an aggressive type mindset they need to be remember that this is the very same team that closed the door on their Playoff hopes last season. I truly hope that they?re aware of that.

Great game by the Sixers, my Wizards came storming back but you held us off. Great game, this Korver kid has a spectacular shot and is proving to be no pushover. Arenas played really bad for us, so did Hughes. Great game, too bad we couldn't pull it out.

Gotta give some props to Kyle Korver also. He did very well tonight and showed that he could back up Iverson. 26 points and 8 rebounds on over 60 percent shooting is awesome. We might be able to see Iverson average ALOT of assists this year if Kyle Korver keeps it up. Nice teamwork and win by Iverson and Korver along with the rest of the Sixers.

Yeah AI went into the crowd after he hit the shot and everyone was ralling around him and he had like his hand on his ear like he always does. He was only in there for a few seconds. I doubt anything will happen guys.

Hey, TheAnswerIs3, maybe Korver is the other answer we have been looking for... not Larry Hughes, Robinson, Van Horn, etc.

I think your right. [IMG] :P

With Korver starting....He will be a candidate for MIP if he keeps it up. Also, If Iverson keeps dishing out so many nice passes to Korver...Korver will average around 16 ppg this year possibly.

No,I wasn't there [IMG] I saw it from live..usually I download games few days after they're played and Kobe 8 Ball,Estonia is a real place cause I live here :P Give me the name of that movie if you're gonna ever remember that.
    ok,back to topic.
Iverson really impressed me as he had none turnovers and his game winner was great also Korver tied AI for player of the game in my eyes as he really stepped up.
